Normally I stay in larger hotels as you generally know what to expect, but when looking at the photos from the Villa I was drawn to the 'quirky' decor that is a welcome escape from traditional Irish hotels with cheap pine furniture etc.
There was a genuinely warm welcome on arrival and I was taken to my small but perfectly functional room which was exactly what I was looking for. All the fittings in the room and first floor seating area are modern and very tasteful, the owners have put thought, style iand expense into this premises. The bathroom was absoutley spotless and modern with a powerful rain head shower.
Internet is free and fast enough for movie streaming.
As i was leaving early the next morning for a Skellig Michael cruise I was going to miss breakfast and immediatly the owners gave me an evening meal in lieu.
The premises is less than a 1 minute walk rom the beach with a long prommenade and a 2 minute walk from a supermarket which serves hot breakfast from 0630 for those that need to leave early.
I am delighted I made the choice to deviate from my normally larger hotel choice, the stay at O'Dwyers added to a wonderful trip and positive experience.
