Inconsistent, rude, lacking information to customers and not 4 star

We normally stay in low cost chain hotels, air b &bs that look interesting, because we were going to a special family event we booked a four star hotel, so we could relax and get good services, it started well when we went to reception to give our car details to the receptionist, later that afternoon we asked another receptionist about when our room would be ready, we got a rude response and we were very pleased that another member of staff took over.

We tried using the bar areas twice in our stay and found it chaotic, inefficient, uncaring and expensive.
Hotel information, since we had a poor response from reception, we thought that information on the hotel services might be in the room! No information provided and an email arrived on the third day of booking- we had figured out what we wanted by that time
Positives: quiet room, nice breakfast (pre book if not part of your deal)

Lovely hotel would highly recommend, food fantastic nice comfortable rooms,hotel overlooking the Shannon in the centre of town,staff friendly What more could you want, we had the whole family there staying in 4 rooms and I must say the family rooms are fantastic

Location was lovely with a nice view of the town. The food was ok and not badly priced. Service at the bar was very slow. We were told that there were 2 functions on. That's why it was slow. But these were pre book, so I felt it was poor planning. €13.50 for a very small old fashion. Staff were not very friendly. The room was clean and a good standard.

The hotel was fine but it turns out I was charged 3 times on my credit card for a one night stay. I was notified by my card company and contacted the hotel. I spoke with Lauren Mc by phone and we verified our emails. She asked for more information which I sent her when we returned home. I have not heard from her even to acknowledge receipt of my email.

Room tip: Make sure you are charged correctly.

Extremely poor customer service. Despite reaching out for support I was ignored on numerous occasions. I was charged more than colleagues and my retainers were thrown away by cleaning staff. My room was clean and the food was good. But I simply felt belittled and ignored on my two night stay

Room tip: Don't expect good customer service.

Wonderful, amazing location, but so disappointing and disorganised.
New bar dark and gloomy, woeful decor. Staff all very tired and disinterested and totally inexperienced, couldn't even handle a simple sandwich order.
Very ageist attitude, and unbelievable deterioration in service
