Or 4th visit to the tea rooms and it each time it has proven to be exemplary.
The pictures speak for themselves but the friendly professional service that goes with it is fantastic. Freshly made cakes and buns on top of delicious savoury bites topped off with as much tea and coffee you can drink.
William and the gang put on a great spread in a wonderfully comfortable, friendly atmosphere. I can't wait to try the evening meals which they put on a couple of times a month.
An experience not to be missed.

I had occasion to visit the Celtic Roots studio to purchase some beautiful sculptured Bog Oak in Ballinahown recently and while there I took the opportunity to enjoy a treat at the tea rooms. The ambiance of the place is just top class, with beautiful tea, made from tea leaves, using boiling water in a teapot and served in a beautiful china cup. The home made Bakewell tart was delicious and the staff were really pleasant. I plan to go back for that special experience again soon and would recommend a visit to anyone travelling in the vicinity of Athlone.

Beautiful tea rooms full of artwork and quirky ornaments. Nicely laid out. Freshly baked scones and cakes and good coffee. Friendly staff. Lovely relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend popping in. Good value too.

Step into the Tea Rooms and it is stepping into your granny's parlour. Fresh bread and scones from the oven and tea made with actual tea leaves (not bags of dust...). Coffee also good. Not cheap but you get what you pay for...

We dropped in for tea and scones on a Saturday morning at 10h00. Was so good we went back later for an excellent lunch of mushroom soup and fresh brown bread.

If visiting the ancient monastic site of Clonamacnoise (about 10 km away) go here for coffee.
