We enjoyed a 2 night stay at Wineport Lodge at the end of July. The hotel is beautiful & all of the rooms have balconies & views of the lake. We were blessed with nice weather so that was a bonus. Our room was nice, the bed was very comfortable with great pillows. The bathroom was spacious with a great power shower. All of the staff we encountered were lovely, all very friendly & helpful. We really enjoyed the outdoor spaces at the hotel, with good weather it was great to have so much outdoor seating. We enjoyed great cocktails in the sunshine while we were there.
The only disappointment we had in the hotel was the food. We expected a much higher standard than what was available. Examples are chowder with more carrots than fish in it, a completely tasteless key lime pie, bruschetta on rock hard bread - and that was just our lunch experience on day 1. The dinner menu was very pricey & had a very limited choice. After a very average meal on night one we actually ended to going to Glasson village on day 2 for lunch just to experience something a little tasty. The food at Wineport was freshly prepared but just seemed to lack flavour.
Overall we had a lovely weekend but I wouldn’t return because if you are paying over €1,000 for 2 nights away the food should be excellent.

We booked the Luxury Cruiser Stay for Saturday the 27 th of July 2024 bed and breakfast one night for five of us, unfortunately one of the guests could not come so there was only the four of us, the boat is stationary and is berthed at the jetty only a few feet from the lodge. We had two double rooms and on each bed we had a white dressing gown, slippers, towels, miniature VOYA toiletries, also there was four large bottles of water, bars of chocolates, cookies, crisps. There was a bottle of rosé champagne, balloons with happy 60 th and a lovely hand written card of welcome, what a great welcome and great start to our day. The weather was like been on the Mediterranean, blue skies, sun shining, calm lake, charcuterie board, bubbles and great company pure heaven. We had the hot tubs booked for 5pm €25 per person for 25 minutes with Prosecco. We had dinner booked for 7.30pm in the lodge , Kash the restaurant manager was so professional and friendly as where all staff in the restaurant, the meal we had was beautiful, the dessert key lime cheesecake was delicious, the cocktails called lemon drop when down very well with dinner the girls drank more then one or two. We had breakfast the following morning back in the lodge , you can also order it to be brought down to the boat if you would like. We have said that we will return again very soon hopefully before Christmas to see the lodge all decorated and see it in the winter time which we think would be magical. We would like to thank Ray and Jane the owners of Wine Port Lodge for their warm welcome, hospitality, professionalism, attention to detail and for the wonderful staff they employ as every one was so friendly, happy in their work and nothing was to much trouble. Thank you to Norma Wilson the general Manager for the lovely welcome notes and greetings. To say we enjoyed our overnight and stay is a understatement it was amazing
