Comfortable quiet room with all essentials in this large character building which accommodates a lot of tour groups. The public areas meet the needs of this clientelle and therefore a tad impersonal for the individual traveller. Nevertheless it met my needs and I would go back.

Room Tip: In the main building is quieter

Last minute decision to take off to see Cliffs of Moher & found the Hydro hotel well priced for a party of five.
A traditional hotel & spotlessly clean. Had planned on eating in hotel but food was only served in restaurant from 7 to 7.30 which didn't suit so we went up the road to avail of some pub grub.
Staff we're friendly & accommodating but there was a slight language barrier more than once found on a short trip.
It was a hotel well busy with bus tours but no noise was heard at night. (We did stay a week night) There was a nite club to hotel so how that sound would work on a weekend I'm not sure.
The views from front of house were lovely to wake up to.
Breakfast was menu order & more than sufficient. Basic but good quality ingredients full Irish. Fresh fruit & muesli are not on offer but good traditional porridge is.
We had a good experience from this last minute trip to County Clare & it's a great destination to find after a long days driving.
I would recommend this hotel but mainly as a stop off point between destinations.
Good quality 3 star hotel : )

Got to the hotel late at night and thought the staff were very welcoming We enjoyed some live music and dancing until 1030pm

The room although a bit dated were spotless My mother stayed in a more upgraded one with a flat screen TV so appreciated they might be on an improvement programme

The food at breakfast was plentiful As a vegetarian they accommodated me with food off the menu without fuss

The interesting Life magazines decorating the stairs walls gave the place character and personality It was lovely to see the hotel owner as we left

I saw negative comments about the place having too many visitors from abroad but that made me as a English person feel valued and welcomed Thanks for a lovely overnight stay

Nice hotel and lovely friendly staff. Central location for exploring The Burren, Cliffs of Moher etc. Nice breakfast but choice was limited. No buffet available and no fresh fruit or yogurt. Very limited choice of bread..

The place is nice -old but nice - nice atmosphere. The rooma are O.K. the food is nice and so is the service. But bear in mind that one section does not have an elevator and it is not easy for old people to climb to the rooms. Wifi works only very close to the reception.

Room Tip: Not in the section with no elevator.
