We first stayed at this cottage last year (2012) and enjoyed it so much that we came back for a two month stay. (September / October). The cottage is tastefully equipped with comfortable furniture. The kitchen is also well stocked with cooking utensils and enough plates, cuttlerly etc that we were able to entertain friends who were also visiting this part of Ireland.
The welcome you receive upon arrival is like meeting old friends or family. There are fresh scones awaiting, fresh milk, eggs that come from the 8 hens and other necessities to get you started.
Being located close to Lough Ine is a bonus. There are wonderful walks that take you on a loop from the cottage and around the lough. The walk is about 90 minutes but do take the time to chat with fellow walkers that you will meet.
The cottage is well situated in that it is close to Skibbeeren and it is an easy 15 minute drive. If you are there on a Saturday do take in the farmers market. There is good shopping in the town which also has a heritage center.
There is much to do in the area and the cottage owners are very knowledgable and more than willing to share that knowledge.

This was a gorgeous cottage that had been featured in an Irish interior design magazine. It oozed charm and was beautifully furnished; the owners had fresh flowers artfully displayed in the cottage, along with a welcome pack of scones, butter, jam, strawberries and freshly whipped cream. The property was delightful, complete with an adorable donkey and three goats, chickens and a cat named Bert. The area is one of the most peaceful and beautiful in all of Ireland. We can't say enough about our week at Lough Ine; it truly was one of the nicest cottages we've ever rented--we are already looking forward to returning.

We have just spent a week at this cottage and it was superb. Really cosy, comfy, clean, well equipped and in a lovely quiet spot near Loch Hyne. Our daughter was very happy as there are lots of animals around - a donkey, goats, hens, cats. The owners of the house were very welcoming and very helpful. The cottage is near both Baltimore and Skibereen so although it is in a quiet location it is also close to everything you need. We were sad to leave - it had started to feel like home!
