“Group on wheels”
Reviewed 20 April 2014 via mobile

We hired 3 cars & 5 people in each car which worked out very cheap for us. It's better & cheaper than public transports. The last stop of Titanic was good & the best of all was free public wifi (eircom) which has superb speed. We enjoyed the sea side & I did heard it's better in summer.

“Good choice for a seaside day trip”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

Our last day in Cork, we decided we wanted to drive to an oceanside village, and the folks in the restaurant recommended Cobh. (Be careful you don't confuse this with Cove that's farther away but sounds the same when someone says it with a thick Irish accent!) Beautiful cathedral that's worth a visit. Nice Irish craft shop along the waterfront where you can watch them cutting crystal. We inquired at the "Titanic Experience" exhibit, but apparently it's a guided tour that starts every thirty minutes, and we had just missed one. Decided to go have lunch instead, and the Titanic restaurant associated with the museum is a very good choice on the waterfront with excellent food. During lunch, we discovered that we could get into an afternoon tour at the Jameson Brewery, so decided to do that instead of Titanic.

“Alternative to the Titanic exhibition”
Reviewed 5 April 2014

We popped into Cobh specifically to visit the station. The display didn't disappoint. We chose this venue to view the Titanic display rather than the other site because we had seen the major Titanic exhibition when it toured Australia. We found the exhibition informative and very interesting.

“Full of real history”
Reviewed 3 April 2014

Cobh is a historical town in the real sense of the world. Not from the point of view of the powerful and the important, but from the ordinary people who passed through here on their way to the New World, full of dreams of a better life. Brings the history of Irish emigration to life, both the Titanic and Queenstown experiences worth visiting. However, even sitting overlooking the harbour for a meal or a drink is a reminder of the thousands who passed through this town, which was the last experience they ever had of their native country. St. Colman's Cathedral towers over the little town - the last sight the emigrants had of Ireland. I have passed the town many times on my way to France in the ferry. It was nice to experience it from the opposite perspective. Very enjoyable stay in a lovely town.

A short train journey from Cork. Lovely town with beautiful views. well worth the climb up to the Cathedral to see the views over the Bay. Titanic experience was interesting and worth a visit if you are interested in the history of the ship.
