We recently enjoyed a relaxing two-night post-lockdown break in the Waters Edge. It was great to be back in this lovely hotel; we really missed it. We got a gorgeous big room facing right out onto the harbour. The water was so close it was almost as if we could dip our toes in it! The room was bright and airy and very clean, the bathroom was well-stocked with toiletries, and had a nice large shower. One thing we were very pleased with is the return of the hospitality tray - ours was covered in plastic so it was extra safe. Our two-night break included a three-course dinner on one evening, but due to the current pandemic, we dined in the hotel on both nights. The Covid-19 protocols here are excellent, and anybody considering visiting or staying in this hotel has nothing to worry about. There is a whole new team of young, enthusiastic, good-humoured and friendly waiting staff here, and they were an absolute pleasure to deal with. Dinner on both nights was excellent, the quality of the food and standard of presentation was super, and the service was very good. Breakfast is a buffet type for cereals, juice etc, with hot breakfasts cooked to order. Attention to detail and customer service are always top class here, and we enjoyed our break so much that we have booked to go back in November. If you did nothing more than watch the busy shipping lane traffic moving up and down the channel, or the small tenders going to and from Haulbowline Naval Base, then you would be relaxing! We can’t wait to go back to Cobh.More
