Visited the cathedral during our trip to Cobh. Really stunning inside and out and beautiful views of the harbour.

An absolutely stunning Cathedral situated looking directly out over Cork Harbour. Architecturally beautiful both inside and outside. The rose window viewed from inside is amazing. Guides are available during Summer months to tell the history of this must see building.

Amazing cathedral from the outside and beautiful on the inside. We were there during a mass so couldn’t get in to see it all but what we could see was great.

Perched as it is on a hill overlooking Cork Harbour, this Cathedral has a magnificent view of ships departing for America. Cobh is the last port of departure for the ill-fated Titanic.
This Cathedral has magnificent stained glass windows as well as internal statuary and ornate carvings. One interesting thing is that it still has the carved marble sanctuary rails tat separate congregation from the sanctuary space. This is rather unusual as this practice was outlawed after Vatican II.
The floor is particularly worthy of note as it is composed of a complex pattern of Celtic knots and signs which are quite beautiful. the atmosphere in this Church is one of peace & serenity and it is one of my favourite Irish churches.
