We stayed at the Old Medical Hall B&B from Good Friday until Easter Sunday, because we had planned to take part in the Bere Island ParkRun on Saturday morning. As we had to catch the ferry to the Island at 9am, the owner Lorna was really kind to accommodate us for Breakfast, which is usually not until 9.30am. When we came downstairs, we found everything we needed in the Breakfast Room. Even fresh milk and juice, which was cooled in a box filled with cold water. We only needed a light breakfast. There was a choice of several cereals, toast and bagels, fresh fruit and yoghurt, a kettle for coffee, fresh apple-and orange juice and jam and Marmelade. Just perfect. Our room was cosy and even though our window was facing the main road through Castletownbere, it was quiet. On Sunday we got a beautiful, tasty freshly cooked breakfast and delicious fresh coffee. The location is perfect. In the centre of the town, within walking distance to the ferry, pubs, shops and restaurants. Our car was safely parked around the back. The B&B also runs a cosy little Tea Room during the day, with delicious looking cakes. Sadly we were out and about most of the time and missed out on sampling any of the baked goods. Maybe next time. The Bere Island ParkRun was brilliant by the way. A fabulous experience altogether and highly recommended. Such a stunning area too. Visited Dursey Island and colourful Eyeries. The landscape is wonderful. Can’t wait to return and run another ParkRun in the area.

The staff & lady owner are the key to this B&B. Nice rooms with a wonderful tea room downstairs. All usuals in bathroom & bedroom. A bed so comfy it will put you to sleep. Plenty of parking & very handy if you have a wedding in the hotel

A one night get away for myself and my husband was superb. Everything was first class, room, en-suite and breakfast was second to none. We enjoyed our stay here immensely and look forward to our next trip to Castletownbere.

We had just rocked into town and saw this B & B and luckily for us someone had just cancelled. How wonderful this place is and Lorna is just the loveliest hostess. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and new.
The breakfast was amazing with incredible choices of cereal, fruit, organic yoghurt and the cooked breakfast (chosen from a menu!) was absolutely delicious. I wish we could have stayed longer. Oh and the home made cakes in the little cafe adjoining were unbelievable!!
