Very charming hostess really at our service without being obtrusive (as it sometimes happens in some Bed and Breakfasts with talkative hosts). Excellent breakfast with a large selection of meals, cereals, home-made jams etc. Upon arrivale were offered tea and cheesecake that we were served in a nice dining room with large bay-windows offering stunning panoramic views - we really enjoyed. We also appreciated the fact that we could browse through the menus of Bantry's main restaurants that the hostess gathered for her guests and choose where we'll go for dinner. Extremely calm location in the countryside with no noise at night at all. Comfortable beds.
Might be a bit difficult to find the place if you are not coming from Bantry (I'd recommend them to put more signs on the road). As the B and B is in middle of nowhere (which was perfect for us) - one needs to have a car to get there and move around.

We stayed here when visiting bantry for a family wedding. The family are lovely and the house is wonderful. They were the perfect hosts, even giving us a lift to the wedding! Nothing seemed to much trouble for them and we felt so welcome. Thank-you again for a wonderful stay, we will be back one day!

La Mirage is an "authentic" Irish B & B owned and operated by a local family with deep roots in the area. Siobhan and Val Lynch are very welcoming with a warm home and rooms to stay in. Siobhan serves a wonderful breakfast and offers up wonderful scones and tea in the afternoon. The location is quiet but quickly accessible to Bantry (10 minutes) and to the local area; it is a great spot from which to visit Kenmare, Glengariff and the Beara peninsula and have a quiet place to come home to at night for a quiet nights sleep. The Bantry Golf Club is 2 minutes away if you are looking for golf. Highly recommended; this was our second visit and we will be returning.

Room Tip: Rooms are all comfortable and quiet; there is a more private area on the ground floor. Although, the most noise you may hear are the cows mooing from the pasture next door.
