Stayed at the seafort on a visit to Bantry. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable with beautiful views of the bay. Our breakfast was cooked to perfection with a wide range of items to choose from. Sean and his wife could not be more helpful and kind, even offered to drive us to the restaurant we were going to one night which was quite a distance. I would highly recommend staying there without any hesitation.
We had a very disappointing experience with this B&B during the bank holiday weekend. On our way from the Ring of Kerry we called the owner (out of politeness) to let them know we were running later than expected and would not arrive until about 8pm. We were then told that check-in was between 3pm and 6pm only and any later than that we would be charged a "no-show" fee. This was not stated anywhere on the booking.com website. We asked if they would be willing to cancel our reservation if they could not wait for us to arrive or make other arrangements for us to collect the key. We were told this was not possible and we would still be charged.
They then went on to the Booking.com website and changed their “House Rules” section to reflect the new check-in times. Luckily booking.com were able to track when the change was made and we were not charged a no show fee, however we had to make other accommodation arrangements on a Sunday evening of a bank holiday weekend which was very stressful. This was a shocking experience based on the other reviews on the site, but I would certainly not recommend this property based on how we were treated.

Siobhan & Sean could not have been more helpful regarding advise about the area, and recommending someplace nice to eat. In fact Sean had a table booked for us prior to our arrival. The room was stunning , overlooking the waterfront. Breakfast was seriously good. All local produce. I had smoked salmon and scrambled egg, and honestly was the nicest Ive ever had.
We will be back!
About a two minute drive from Bantry town, this gorgeous guesthouse is situated on the shore with superb views. The room was spotless and tastefully decorated. The owners we're really helpful and obliging. Breakfast was delicious. The place had a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
I recently attended the West Cork Chamber Music Festival in Bantry for nine days. My travel agent's recommendation for our stay was the Seafort Luxury Guesthouse. It was indeed that and much more! Our accommodations were pristine, unique, cheerful, elegant and all with a beautiful view of the bay and the swans that make the bay their home. We were even provided with binoculars to enjoy a close up view. Sean and Siobhan, the proprietors, have thought of everthing to provide comfort and convenience. Breakfast included delicious options. Siobhan surprised me with almond butter after I mentioned that I have it for breakfast at home. Clearly, their guests are their top priority and they add their wonderful friendliness and sense of humor to the mix. I wouldn't stay anywhere else next time I'm in Bantry.
