My husband and I stayed with the Conroys for two nights last week. From the delicious breakfast to the nicely appointed rooms to the incredible location on the Sky Road overlooking the cliffs, everything about our stay at Rockmount House was excellent. As dog owners ourselves, we absolutely loved being accompanied by Lady and Bonnie, their two super friendly dogs, when we walked out to the cliffs each day. And, their house is only a half hour from Connemara National Park, which offers hikes with stunning views of the area. When looking at B&Bs in Clifden, we debated whether or not to stay in town. I am so glad we opted to stay at Rockmount House - the short drive to and from town was a small price to pay for spending a few days in Irish paradise.

Room tip: If you are the first to arrive, ask for the sea view room!

We stayed here for one night, en route to the Connemara National Park and surrounding areas. This is located on the scenic Sky Road route which is lovely for driving and walking given its spectacular views. Ann is a lovely host and very welcoming. The room itself was spotless and well equipped. A few nice extras such as the tea and coffee making facilities in the communal room were also available. Breakfast was absolutely superb - excellent coffee, and a nice selection of options. The house also has a private cliff walk from their back garden with stunning views. The highlight of our stay however, had to be the two adorable, gentle rough collies who were there to welcome us when we arrived, and then chaperoned us on our relaxing cliff walk. We won't forget them! All in all a lovely, memorable stay.

Room tip: Get a front room so you can lean out the window and play with the dogs :-)

The Conroys run an excellent B&B. It is very peaceful with a beautiful view of the ocean. Great breakfast with lots of options, super clean and appealing decor. Ann goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and is helpful with advice on what to see and do in the area. Highly recommended.

Stunning location on the skyroad, nice room, very good breakfast with wide choice, very friendly owners. My children loved the two dogs that accompanied us in our walk to the cliffs which starts right behind the house. Highly recommended

I stayed at Rockmount House with two friends and we couldn't have made a better choice. Its location a few kilometres outside of Clifden on the scenic Sky Road means that it's absolutely quiet there, save for the occasional "moo" and "baa". The surroundings are as idyllic as it gets.

Anne and Paddy were the most lovely hosts, so warm and always helpful. Since we were staying for two weeks, Anne offered to move us to a bigger room with a bigger bed, and told us to let her know if we wanted anything that was not on the a la carte breakfast menu (which is fabulous, by the way).

I was particularly enchanted by the dogs Lady and Bonnie, who are always happy to accompany guests on a walk to the cliffs. There's a private walking trail that leads from the house to the cliffs, it's just a few hundred metres.

Our room was beautiful and cosy, always spotlessly clean, nothing looked old or worn down. The mattresses are really comfortable!

I would love to come back one day - Rockmount House is the perfect combination of great accomodation, a beautiful location and fantastic hosts.

Room tip: Each of the four rooms looks a little different, and each is beauitful. Two of them look out onto the backyard and the cliffs, the other two onto the frontyard and mountains. You just can't go wrong with any of the rooms.
