A fantastic place to stay with the best hosts and an amazing breakfast!

Review of Ben View House

If you are in Clifden, this is the place to stay! Desmond is a fantastic host and he will take care of you very well at Ben View House!

We found Ben View by chance when looking for a place to stay in Clifden quite last minute and luckily, a room was available. Our room was cosy and the location is hard to beat. The included breakfast was amazing in their adorable little dining room!

The house has been in the same family for generations and it is so cool to see all the history on display about it just about everywhere you look. And Desmond and his staff are just the friendliest, sweetest people you will ever meet. He was a joy to chat with!

We only had one minor problem with the shower being very low pressure but it is a very old house so it is understandable and was not a big deal. I would absolutely stay here again regardless!

Room Tip: They are happy to hold bags before and after check in, just ask!

From the moment we arrived we felt at home. Desmond welcomed us with open arms and made sure we were well taken care of. The home is beautiful and the rooms are clean. Flower boxes outside our windows overlooking the town made for amazing views. The breakfast was delicious and the service was top notch. I would recommend this cozy BnB to anyone in the area, it was a highlight of our trip!

Best breakfast in Ireland! Even the coffee was perfect. Such a quaint house. A glimpse into a proper town dwelling on the wild Atlantic way. Des is very friendly and the place is spotless. Would visit again. Loved Clifden. Such friendly folks. Very helpful.

Room tip: On street parking needs money between 11 30 and 6. But it's not expensive. And most cars are gone exploring.

The warmest of family welcomes in this B and B. If you are looking for a traditional, old Irish welcome with stories and wonderful food this is the place for you. Immaculately clean and a comfy night’s sleep. Thank you Eileen and Des for looking after us so beautifully. Great stop for exploring the national park including the Diamond hill walks and the stunning Kylemore Abbey. Lots of places to explore including Omey Island. Thanks again Hannah and Alan - Leeds UK

Room tip: Parking no issue. Cheap through day and free from 6pm -11.30am Mitchell’s and Guys great for food Lowrys for music

This is a lovely guest house. We stayed for three nights while touring the area on motorbikes. The great welcome which we received from Des and the unlimited local advice was greatly appreciated. The room was spacious and clean, we had fresh towels every day and the breakfast was brilliant. Attention to detail was exceptional. If we’re in the area again we would certainly come back. Thanks Des and Eileen

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this charming guest house. The hosts Eileen and Desmond made us feel like visiting relatives their welcome was so genuine. The breakfast was absolutely second to none and the location is also ideal. We will definitely return when next in the area.
