My partner and I made the long journey from Dublin to stay at this site, largely because of it's Eco-camping credentials. After driving through the breathtaking Connemara landscape, we arrived at this little corner of paradise, and couldn't believe it when we were able to camp right on the coast, in what the owners described as the 'honeymoon suite'! We received a very warm welcome, and appreciated the fact that the owners deliberately avoid overcrowding the site, so we and the other guests had plenty of room to ourselves. The unique sand dune environment is perfect for camping as there is plenty of natural shelter, and the ground did not become waterlogged or muddy even in the fairly heavy rain we experienced! Add to this free hot showers, free wifi, and the free use of a freezer for you ice blocks, and not to mention the excellent pubs and restaurants in nearby Clifden a 10 minute (€10) taxi ride away, and you have the best of both worlds to enjoy! We cannot wait for our next trip very soon! Thank you so much!

This campsite has to be one of the most idyllic in Ireland. I confess that I was reluctant to even write this review as it is the type of place you would like keep special and secret but that would do a massive disservice to Chris the owner, and his lovely family (and yes he is simply one of the nicest person you can ever meet!), We sat with our two boys in a secluded pitch, roasting marshmallows in a fire pit supplied by Chris and watched herons flying over the water. The private beach has to be experienced to be believed as it has crystal azure waters that would not look out of place in the South of France. There are only two toliets and one shower but these are immaculate. There were fishermen, walkers, kayakers and even swimmers around and there is so much to do nearby we are already planning a return trip. There is a well stocked shop and pub a 2 minute drive away and you head across to Omey Island when the tide is low. Just a really really special place.Share the word but only to people you think will really appreciate it!

Acton's camping park is one of those places that you have to experience to fully appreciate its full charm, from its friendly owner Chris and his family to the breathtaking location, it's a little bit of paradise in the west of Ireland the site is nestled within a stones throw of crystal clear water and white sandy beach, very child friendly and safe, the site is well maintained and the facility's Kept clean and tidy with Lyric FM playing in the background day and night, over all the site is such a relaxing place to stay and we hope to return soon.

This is a stunning campsite with the pitches set in grassy dunes, it's own beach and views of the mountains. Facilities are basic but were always clean, and I understand they're being extended this Summer. We would definitely return!
