First off, wife and I were here in off-season, so the operational days were limited and the restaurant wasn't fully operational, so I can't speak to that. They did have a pop-up burger option on Saturday that was absolutely delicious. (Lamb, Beef).
We stayed in the village for 3+ weeks. I believe that contributed to our experience. The best part of this pub is the people, and a close 2nd is the atmosphere. Alan and Katryn were very welcoming. Several other local patrons were also very welcoming. We made several friends, had some great discussions, and some great Guinness. When St Patrick's Day rolled around, a surprise was that some of our new friends were musically inclined and the whole late afternoon/night was filled with music. For our longer stay, I specifically selected a small village for the possibility of small pub environment, and getting to know the locals. My wife and I are thoroughly overjoyed with the random luck of picking a town that had The Otter in it, and it will forever hold a special place in our hearts for everyone we met, the atmosphere, and the conversations had. Alan, thank you SO much for making our stay so memorable! S'lainte and Good luck! ~Marty & Jen (the Americans)
