Myself and a mate pulled in on our bikes for a pint courtesy of Alan. Unfortunately the pub was shut due to Covid. However, we had a great chat with him and he very kindly fixed my mates bike. Well done Alan! I look forward to having a pint in the bar when you re-open.

Stayed in Inistioge with friends at the weekend. Having tried all 3 pubs in the village, we settled on The Otter. It is warm and cosy with an open fire and was decorated with Christmas Lights for the season. Alan and his wife couldn't have made us feel more welcome. They chatted to us like old friends and Alan kept us entertained with his sense of humour!!! You get the feeling you are sitting in someones living room. The atmosphere is laid back, the Guinness is Gorgeous and the dogs are adorable. Thanks guys for a memorable weekend! We'll be back in Summer and for Octoberfest. x

The dog ought to. Although not over-friendly, the one-eyed Jack Russell will, on cue, run over to the corner, take out his drinking bowl and demand a Guinness. He signals this by rolling over in front of the bowl until its topped up. Not too concerned wih letting it settle either. The host, manager, and manager's daughter were very friendly and welcoming and there was a lovely fire. (Which the dog lay in front of when he wasn't swallyin pints). And a great selection of painted rocks for sale, of which the boat crew bought one. Definitely worth a visit. We were staying across the road at the Woodstock Arms. (See separate review.)

Small pub with a big welcome. Open fire to sit by & relax, very homely. In Summer time, there's an option to sit out front, or the back. Locals quite friendly, happy to chat away if you want the company. Alan & family make you feel like you are in the sitting room, & the doggys will say hello too! Have never sampled the food, but hope to do so in the near future.

We stopped at The Otter where we were warmly welcomed by Alan and his family. We shared stories, watched their one-eyed dog do tricks (and drink Guinness) and were served a wonderful snack with our coffee. But the best part was the way in which they treated us like family. Wished we had more time with them. But we have our painted rock to take home to remember them all.
