Great value for money for dinner. Actually ate there both nights of our stay. Big shout out to Samantha. Said she'd feed us and she did. Very reasonable good selection on menu. Would definitely recommend.

Right in the centre of town but there is guest parking behind the hotel.
The receptionist was very helpful and welcoming and the period character of the building was everywhere. A total delight.
I had a wonderful room, which was bright and spotless with period furnishings. This room was called the Michael Collins Room as he had stayed in there in the early twentieth century. There were many historical displays on the walls but whether or not you are into history, the room was beautifully decorated. A large window ensured a view of the main street and the church, just a little way down the road.
The bathroom was large and spotless, again with a period feel set off by the tiles and the old fashioned fittings which I loved. There was a shower over the bath and plenty of hot water.
I slept well as the bed was super comfy and the hotel quiet.
I had dinner in the restaurant which seemed to be very popular and I could see why. A full bar and a good menu featuring local fayre. I started with locally smoked salmon which was excellent and there was plenty of it. I then had baked salmon in a stunning savoury sauce with asparagus. The meal was very good value!
Breakfast was very good and via table service.
We visited just to eat and were directed to the 'bistro'. This is not particularly atmospheric but staff are friendly and helpful. Quite busy, even mid-week. Most seem to be locals. All food was enjoyed though the veg were rather over-done for our taste. Portions were huge. Reasonably priced by local standards. The hotel is well-located quite centrally in town. But overall, entirely adequate but not notable
This is a lovely hotel. Clean, comfortable, modern rooms; great food; helpful and friendly staff. Be sure to make time to take in all the wonderful photos on display of the town through the years. Carrick-on-Shannon is a gem with so many great attractions, and if you are going to visit, you should absolutely stay in the Bush Hotel.
This hotel has a storied history in Carrick-on-Shannon and is well located in town to everything a visitor would want to do when visiting. The rooms have been refreshed but still look dated. The staff is wonderful and the food at the restaurant was excellent. I hope the new owners will continue to invest in the refurbishment of the hotel that will honor its past but bring its standard into today's market needs.
We stayed 2 nights in a superior room
Why is it called superior, I have no idea...
Very small room, only double beds with old and uncomfortable mattresses
No hot food served until 5 o'clock
It's ridiculous, when u travel 3.5 hours 2 get there
One night would be more then enough
Very disappointed
It's not worth the money
