Recently visited Oscar Madison’s from Australia. So glad we did. Such a great little Irish Bar with friendly staff and a fun crowd. Clean, welcoming and well run. Worth the visit !!
Well supported by vibrant local trade. Excellent service by friendly staff. Previous reviews were not able to take into account recent renovations. Substantial improvements have been made to support services in the pub, and facilities are as good if not better than many bars. Enjoy a pint in convivial company.
Good service, staff that you can have a bit of banter with. Large outdoor area and plenty of TVs for sport's fans.
Called in a couple of times during our stay in Kinsale they show live sports in the day and had a band in the evening. It wasn’t a noisy live sports bar which was welcome as my partner wanted to watch but I read the paper.
I was with the below reviewer at the time of his visit. Seems to have mixed Oscar's up with The Armada. And his review was aimed at the latter. Oscar's is a grand spot for a few pints. Nice atmosphere and interesting collection of obscure football scarves.
We walked into a near empty bar on a Friday night. We were greeted with a wry smile from the barman, who could only be thinking, "get out". We got our drinks and thought we might have a game of pool. There had been a group playing, but they had left for a smoke and told us to play. We were just racking the balls for them to return to the usual "our table" junk. No problem at all. This happens everywhere, but the vibe was different. I've never felt so uncomfortable. This place is an absolute dump. If you want to take your sister on a date, this is the place for you!
