Highly recommended. Staff were exceptional. Hotel is lovely and functional. We had an infant and could not have hoped for a better experience. The room view was spectacular, showing us the marina, lots of boats and opposing shoreline. Five stars.
There are two larger hotels in Kinsale, Actons & Trident. We chose the Trident based on Parking and the good reviews found here. We spent three nights there and enjoyed our time and Kinsale and in this property breakfast is included and the staff is attentive, the food is very good good basic breakfast foods. Given the size of this hotel it does host bus trips. Generally, this means somewhere between 20 and 40 guests spending one night and a large bus taking up some parking spaces, but this was not a negative. We did not dine in the fine restaurant but did eat one dinner in the pub restaurant that was OK. The location is wonderful, you are a short walk to everything in Kinsale even though the location has been known as the end of the world. This was one of the few places that had a bathroom with a shower that had a shower door, unusual in Ireland. The shower was great. The bathroom was set up well, there were towels, but no robes. Our room was on the third floor in the suite wing -#313. we had a wonderful view of the harbor and could watch the sailboats coming and going. The staff, including the cleaning people were friendly, efficient and informative. If you’re coming to Kinsale, you should consider this property.
The bed was extremely comfortable. Room and view excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and frehly prepared. Staff in restaurant and bar were helpful and v friendly. Kinsale is a wonderful quaint place to visit with excellent restaurants. Harbour is very pretty.
Each year a family and neighbour group spend a weekend away at various country locations in Ireland.
This was our best yet!
Its a mid range and mid price hotel - but that is not a negative nor a criticism.
Such hotels are essential - and this one is one of the best.
Several aspects make it the fine establishment it is :
The staff so friendly and helpful - exceptional! - almost all were good but i mention Paula and Hannah in the bar as especially excellent.
The rooms are perfectly adequate (good even) with excellent views of the harbour.
For a mid range hotel the food is absolutely excellent - even with such an extensive dinner menu - and great value too
It is so wonderfully refreshing to have a high quality and extensive breakfast SERVED to the tables.
The bar is very comfortable and relaxed.
Our desire to watch the rugby on TV was accommodated with no hassle at all (the staff didn't help our result though!)
All in all a thoroughly great experience - so much so that we're booking again next year.
Which reminds me of the one negative - the reservation Manager was dour, negative and defensive.
Thankfully Peter her front desk assistance had a much better disposition.
This is a hotel for us to be proud of and should recommend to visitors.

Trident was a comfortable and clean hotel near a marina. A number of excellent restaurants were within walking distance. So it felt safe, inviting and convenient. On-site Parking made arrival and departure easy. Our room was spacious and well appointed. Climate, location and layout made for a restful pleasant stay. Breakfast was delicious, customized, with a great selection in a lovely setting. Service across all settings was professional and pleasant. Very brief and wonderful stay.
