Very nice hotel on the edge of town in Kinsale. Room was on point: clean and comfortable. Front desk staff is a little curt but very helpful and polite. Restaurant staff was awesome for dinner and breakfast. I came downstairs to pick up a dessert for the room, and the manager let us take the plates and silverware upstairs and everything. Would definitely stay again.
Can't fault anything. All the staff were great, the room was spacious, comfortable and clean, the bathroom was clean, and the breakfast seelectioon was great. Gorgeus view of the harbour and a short walk into town.
It's a shame the bar on the 1st floor was not open when we were there.
Very pleased with every aspect; room cleanliness, food quality and timeliness, and very friendly staff. Location ideal.
Everything about the hotel was most satisfactory - from arrival till departure. The room was very clean and comfortable, with all modern conveniences included. The breakfast was ample, with a good varied choice, and freshly prepared,and the staff were efficient and friendly. The same can be said of the bar/restaurant - the standard of food was very high, and the service was excellent - a very pleasant experience in fact.
We stayed here for a week over the Easter break.
Pros:
- located in town, so you can walk to all the great spots in Kinsale.
- delicious breakfast to help start your day on the right foot. The service team for breakfast are nice and friendly.
- delicious food in the hotel's bar/tavern (special mention to their soup of the day and lunchtime roasts). Again, the team are so warm and friendly.
- clean rooms and comfy beds.
- free parking (note: if you're driving a 4WD, the spaces are a little tight).
- sea views.
Cons:
- None really. I think I'm being super picky here, but apart from when we went to check-in, we didn't find the reception team as friendly compared to their colleagues in the bar and restaurant. Small thing really and they may have just had a bad day.
Staying at the Trident is great base to explore Kinsale and surrounding areas. Plus, it's an entry point to the Wild Atlantic Way - so many beautiful places to explore in Ireland!
