Everything about the hotel was most satisfactory - from arrival till departure. The room was very clean and comfortable, with all modern conveniences included. The breakfast was ample, with a good varied choice, and freshly prepared,and the staff were efficient and friendly. The same can be said of the bar/restaurant - the standard of food was very high, and the service was excellent - a very pleasant experience in fact.
We stayed here for a week over the Easter break.
Pros:
- located in town, so you can walk to all the great spots in Kinsale.
- delicious breakfast to help start your day on the right foot. The service team for breakfast are nice and friendly.
- delicious food in the hotel's bar/tavern (special mention to their soup of the day and lunchtime roasts). Again, the team are so warm and friendly.
- clean rooms and comfy beds.
- free parking (note: if you're driving a 4WD, the spaces are a little tight).
- sea views.
Cons:
- None really. I think I'm being super picky here, but apart from when we went to check-in, we didn't find the reception team as friendly compared to their colleagues in the bar and restaurant. Small thing really and they may have just had a bad day.
Staying at the Trident is great base to explore Kinsale and surrounding areas. Plus, it's an entry point to the Wild Atlantic Way - so many beautiful places to explore in Ireland!
Lovely hotel in beautiful Kinsale! Right on the water and we watched the fisherman get ready for their day in the morning. Enjoyed their bar and had a delicious breakfast there in the morning. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Lovely staff as well.
Beautiful room overlooking the harbour and fabulous breakfast the following morning. The bar very quiet for a Saturday night with no music which was a bit disappointing. Staff very friendly overall especially breakfast crew who really were on top of there game. Overall very pleased
We celebrated 34 years of marriage staying at Trident March 24 for three nights. Trident’s staff went above and beyond to accommodate our limited mobility by allocating us room 318, great view and spacious room. Everyone was friendly and pleasant and overall we rate our second stay there at 5 out of 5 stars!
Meals were very good except for first night due to “Chef in training”. It wasn’t terrible, just not what we know Trident provides and Tuesday night proved a winner! We especially enjoyed our last morning there at breakfast. A fishing vessel had docked which we watched but sadly we didn’t have the camera with us to capture the show! Seagulls, herons, and seals all waited for their breakfast scraps from the boat! Such fun!
Overall, thank you for making our three night stay another wonderful event with Trident!
