The San Antonio B&B is a fantastic place. Jimmie's hospitality goes way beyond the call of duty. It's a great location just a block from the towns center. Jimmie is more than happy to give you recommendations on where to eat and pubs to enjoy and he was spot on. The rooms were a good size, very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The entire house has been updated and the shower is fantastic with great pressure. They cook a fantastic breakfast with several choices. He really welcomes you into his home and you feel completely comfortable. Jimmie was a great help to us during our stay. We were at a pub somewhat out of town and had met some great people there. They gave us a ride home and at the time we didn't realize it but my husband had lost his phone and rental car keys in the car. The Dara (our new friend) called Jimmie to let him know he had our phone. When we returned to the B&B Jimmie met us to let us know that Dara would be returning the phone to the B&B tonight. We told hime we also lost our keys (hopefully in Dara's car). Jimmie said don't worry I will call and have him look for the keys also. He stayed up late (past 11pm) waiting for Dara to return the keys and phone. He greeted us the next morning with the keys and phone. He is fantastic and I truly love this place. Jimmie aqnd Dara saved our vacation.

He doesn't have a website just an email and you simply email him and tell him you want to stay there. I asked him how can I make a deposit to hold the reservation. Jimmie's reply is simply..."you told me you are coming and I will hold the room until I hear other wise. Great guy. His email for the b&b is jimmiesan@yahoo.ie. And his prices are great...cash only.

Room Tip: Arrive either in the morning or after 4pm otherwise its chaos in the town with bus and day tourist

Jimmie is a great host and wonderful cook - breakfast were superb. Loved the grapefruit in the morning - felt just like home. Our room was comfy and the shower was great with lots of hot water. It's just a very short walk (3 minutes) to the centre of town. Desmond Castle is just steps away. Jimmie gave us great recommendations for places to eat and where to hear wonderful traditional music. We'd love to go back - there's lots to do in the area.

Jimmie is absolutely lovely. From a friendly welcome to tips for the city he was great to converse with. The room was big, but the shower was a little small (standard European). The breakfast was fabulous and cooked to order. In the summer months when we were there the top floor where our room was located got a little warm and with the windows open you can hear the noise of people coming home from the pubs. Beds were very comfortable and there was free wifi. Overall Jimmie made this place even more enjoyable.

Room Tip: Just call Jimmie will hook you up!

My girlfriends and I went on a long weekend trip to Ireland in May. We had hired a car and weren’t really sure where we were going, but by a stroke of luck we ended up in beautiful Kinsale!

The local tourist office directed us to an area with a few B&Bs and luckily we knocked on San Antonio’s door first! It’s a beautiful old house in a quiet street and they had a room for three people available. Although we were only planning on staying one night, we ended up staying for two.

Jimmie (the host) is lovely – he cooks an awesome breakfast and gave us plenty of great recommendations for local restaurants, pubs and attractions (our favourite was the Spaniard!). It’s in a great location – walking distance from pretty much everything in town and about a 30 minute drive from Blarney Castle.

We had a fabulous stay at San Antonio and would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Kinsale.

We loved our 2 night stay in Kinsale, took it easy just enjoying the town and surrounds. Jimmie was a thoughtful and interesting host and cooked us lovely breakfasts each morning. The fresh grapefruit was a nice starter. He gave us wonderful suggestions for dinner and local music in the evenings. His location is perfect- quiet but only a couple of minutes walk to the center of town and all the pubs and restaurants. We parked in his front yard- perfect! We have no hesitation recommending this B&B - we would stay here again if we were to return!
