we were disappointed that the residents bar was not open when we got back to the hotel around 1230 am as we were a group of 4 and as it was a bad night weather wise we didn't delay getting back to our accomadation,

Staff more than helpful and friendly.i
We were very happy with room and overall happy .it is so central to town and you are only walking distance from where any action is . Nice walks by the sea and general area .

We had a weekend break to this hotel in March. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We ate in the hotel bar/restaurant both nights and the food was good.
On the Friday night we stayed in a big room on the top floor, there was a velux window/sky light above the bed. Unfortunately the rain was torrential on the Friday night and the noise on the skylight window was like someone playing the drums above you (no one can control the weather). We asked to be moved to a different room the following morning (heavy rain was forecast all weekend) and the staff were very accommodating. Nothing was a trouble.

Stayed here recently for Friday and Saturday nights. Firstly we were checked in at 1800 by a monosyllabic receptionist who seemed to wish she was elsewhere. Given a front room with street view which was comfortable enough. Clean but showing signs of wear. Bathroom was like a sauna with excessive heat and humidity until we discovered that the hot tap had been left running. Breakfast the following morning was given in a dingy windowless function room in the basement which had a shuttered bar, elevated band performance area and tables dotted around a timber dance floor area. A few staff were present dressed in scruffy tee shirts and jeans, and the "maitre de" was dressed in a nylon anorak and looked like he had just dismounted from his bicycle. Uniforms are not hard to come by in 2017. Coffee was brought from the kitchen, and bacon, egg, sausage, beans, mushrooms and potato hash browns were served at a portable bain marie. Juices and cereal were available.
Second night we came in from a long day touring and went to the bar for a quiet drink, or so we thought. Piped music was blaring so loudly we didn't even bother ordering as we knew conversation was going to be difficult, so we went off to a quiet bar down the street. This hotel seems to be centred around the bar and a clientele mostly decked out in national costume, ( track suit bottoms, hoodies and runners) who were continuously parked at the front doors just to ensure that their cigarette smoke was blown back into the foyers. If you don't fit in here, you will be best served being elsewhere. If a manager was on duty, they were fairly invisible in all the time we were there . No car parking available - just take pot luck on the street, Will not be going back there again.

Room Tip: Pick another hotel
