We arrived as a coach party, unreasonably late, on a Monday evening, as part of a 5-day D/B&B break. Despite this, the manager John Raftery and his staff couldn’t have been more welcoming, providing us all with a lovely hot meal within 15 mins. We were tired and hungry, and left behind the horrendous British winter storms and blizzards.
The bedrooms were clean and spacious and contained 3 beds each, roomy bathroom with bath and shower. Looks a bit tired, but it’s comfortable. Loads of storage space, 4 fresh towels daily and tea/coffee provision. Very warm, and quiet. Perfect for tired travellers. The meals were delicious and served without delay. It seems that a full Irish breakfast consists of 2 sausages, fried egg, and 2 rashers of bacon. Served immediately after we’d had our choice of cereals or creamy porridge, orange juice, fruit salad, and unlimited toast. There would not have been room for tomatoes, beans, mushrooms, black pudding or hash browns.
Entertainment and quiz on 3 of the nights, and because the ferries were cancelled and Dublin was in lockdown we stayed an extra night. The hotel is a brisk 20 mins walk from town, safely lit, on pavement. Very enjoyable stay, would return. Thanks John.More
