We drove to the Eask tower following the locals. Walked to the Eask Tower and sat on the beach watching Fungie play with the boat and the people in the water. The tower itself is beautiful and a great photo opt.

For a great hike combined with beautiful views, you cannot go wrong hiking up to Eask Tower. It's a little hard to find, but just follow the winding road, park, pay your euro into the can (there was no one in the shed when we got there, but a friendly dog outside). Then start climbing through all those sheep! As you go up the hill you will be treated to beautiful views of Dingle and the entire penensula. Easily the most beautiful hike we took in a 15 day driving trip around the entire island.

Unsure what to do one day - the choice is huge - we were advised to go and climb 'that hill over there'. I had looked at that dalek every time we visited on holiday and wondered what it was for. Having read a bit of the history, that it was built during the time of the famine to give the residents some employment as well as to point the way to the harbour entrance, we set off.
We parked at the bottom of the 'hill', paid our euro and started the (thankfully) zig-zag climb. Amazingly, there were times that we couldn't see the tower - a lot of sheep though. When we reached the top - what a view! Absolutely stunning, breathtaking - all the cliches don't even come close. Take time out to visit - it's well worth the climb!
