MIchael was so informative and answered all our questions. He has a lot of knowledge on the sites and by going with the tour we really learned so much which we would have missed by going on on own. The van was comfortable and it was great not to have to drive and look around at the beauty!

I found Tim a bit difficult to communicate with via emails. Got the idea that he either doesn’t like to write more than a few words at a time, or he just doesn’t like email, so we thought we had a reservation, but weren’t sure until we reaffirmed a couple of days in advance.

Tim appears to do few of the tours these days, but Joe was very good.

We were in large modern van with 10 other people. Very comfortable. The tour visited 4 archaeological sites on the peninsula and the presentation was very informative.

Joe also did a great job of pointing out locations for films made on the Peninsula (particularly “Far and Away” and Ryan’s Daughter”, so it is helpful to have seen these films recently before taking the tour).

They pick you up where you are staying, so the 25 euros each for the 2 ½ -3-hour tour is reasonable.

We were so excited to take our family on this tour. We made reservations for our family of 8 and got a confirmation email from the owner. On the day we went they told us they only had room for 1/2 of us. They made no effort to accommodate their mistake and 4 of us missed the tour. We spent lots of money to get to Dingle and this was one of the reasons to go. If they had been at all accommodating I would not be upset but we were basically told, "too bad." Disappointed to say the least at what happened but more in their attitude of not trying to find any solution.

Michael, Tim's son, was a wealth of knowledge. We learned so much, from ancient peoples dating back to B.C. Era, to ecology, to famine years. All very interestingly presented in about a 3 hour excursion. We learned so much about the Irish culture with this tour. As a bonus, you take the same Slea Head road with all of its beauty, but Michael drives the narrow roads for you! Highly recommended. Tip: Depending on the day, the weather can be difficult. Come prepared accordingly. Tours are in English.

If you at all interested in the archaeological history of the Dingle peninsula take this tour. Tim Collins knows his stuff and packs a lot into this 3-hour tour, with lots of photo opps. It started out a little light on the archaeology part, with touristy fluff, but about 30 minutes into it it got more focused. I thought I had done my homework on what the peninsula had to offer but had missed several important things in my research. Book as soon as you know you are heading this way, the tour filles quickly. Be persistent. We stayed at Tim's b&b to help ensure a place on the tour but after confirming the room reservation they did not respond to my emails about locking in the tour. As a result, when we checked in only one tour slot was available, not our first or second choices, and we were fortunate that we had planned a multi-day visit. Also, I am glad there were only 11 of us in the 14-passenger van. The more there are, the more time it takes to unload & load back up at each site. Also, avoid June-August, when the area is packed with large tour buses filled with tourists, shoulder-to-shoulder on the sidewalks & fighting for time at the tourists sites.
