Holidaying in nearby Sneem we rang to book some adventure activities for our party of 9 which consisted of all ages from kids aged 11, to teenagers and to some of us in our late 40's. It cost €20 each person which for 3 1/2 hours was brilliant value. With some trepidation, we decided on orienteering, following by an army-type assault adventure course. We had the best few hours of fun we have had in a long time. Orienteering was fun with 9 clues and strong competition between the teams to get every advantage (not always fairly). The assault course was extremely challenging and scary at times (for the oldies) but we were so well monitored by our instructor who was with us every step of the way encouraging us to get over each obstacle and so, with much difficulty, we overcame each challenge, much to the amusement of our younger members. Teamwork was essential to help all levels. Some of the situations we found ourselves in will forever live in the memories !!! Sitting on the top of the nine foot wall, terrified to move and covered head to toe in mud for one challenge!! When it finished it was back to base to do some mental tests and then count our overall scores and get well earned (free) drinks of our choice. The pre-arranged forfeit of the losers cooking dinner and doing clean-up was hard fought but the winning team was ecstatic. Brilliant brilliant fun and worth every penny. The instructor was particularly helpful and seemed to enjoy it as much as we did.
