We landed late at night and had to catch a sea plane early the next morning so it was suggested we stay at the Hulhule. The price seemed very high but we were assured it was a 5 star hotel and only 5 minutes from the airport. We had to search for the staff at the airport and he said we were not on his list, however, reading upside down we saw our names. Once that was sorted out the transfer to the hotel was very efficient and the staff helpful. The reception staff were also very helpful explaining about the internet and the breakfast and that we had been upgraded to a deluxe room in the new wing. The room was on the ground floor with no view but as it was only for 9 hours that would not have been a problem if the room was clean and modern but that was not the case, the decoration was very tired, the carpet dirty and the room had a strange smell. There was breakfast in the old wing from 4am to 7am and then in the new wing from 7am onwards. We went at 6am and it was a fusion of a Japanese and western breakfast. again the staff were really helpful and the waiter made a really good omelette. The other items at the buffet were limited and not that inspiring but it was available. If you have a very short layover then it is worth considering this hotel, but try not to. Next time I would change my flights and if necessary use a hotel further from the airport. Not sure how this hotel got any good reviews.

Room Tip: The rooms on the 2nd or 3rd floors must have a better view than we had..

Poor service, run down rooms, terrible poolside attempt, unless you want to inhale second hand smoke for free while sitting on a concrete deck. Over priced, ferry hotel Jen or other option that has some value for money. Cafe looks like institutional housing cafeteria, from a bad movie. The tea was finally served and the milk immediately curdled when poured in. Yikes!

They have wifi in room but of course everything in Maldives has to be paid, need not to say, it wont be cheap. They have shuttle bus to the airport and also boat to Male. Shuttle to airport and just inquire for the island u would like to go. We went for Club Med Kani. The drinking water in room is not bottled, its those refilled bottle water, and it doesnt look clean.

Room Tip: Pick rooms which are near the reception, then you will be able connect to their free wifi in the lobby.

Beautiful place to relax with friends sipping Long Island with lot of Sea Breeze!
Starters are absolutely mouthwatering. Especially the Buffalo Chicken wings :-)
All international brands of liquor is available.
No alcohol allowed in Male City!!!!!!

So the only place to have a good drink is at Hulhule. Cheers!!

It was my bad bad bad experience ever in any hotel. The room is clean and overall is okay. The free wifi hotel provide is only available at the lobby. It's charged if you need it in the room. The worst part is their service and their staff hardly smile. Before I leave the hotel, I paid the postage to the hotel staff for sending the post cards back to Malaysia. Waited for a couple of months still not receiving, emailed the hotel and didn't get any respond.
