Description: A village pub, serving great food, set in the beautiful village of Lavendon. We have an extensive, safe, beer garden so kids can play while adults enjoy a drink. The menu, designed by our chef to suit the seasons, is fresh, tasty and great value for money. There is something for everyone and although we do not offer a kids menu, chef is happy to prepare smaller portions to encourage them to eat healthily. We are dog friendly although ask that your pooches stay in the bar area or the garden.

Popped in a few times recently after one disappointing visit a few years ago. Vast improvement. Nice friendly staff, good beer and a pleasant and warming atmosphere.

Called in last night after a trip down the M1 and decided to try the menu. Excellent fresh food, properly cooked. A bit dearer than the inconsistent place across the road, but well worth it.

Our waitress, Esme, was on the ball! Will definitely be going again.

Went with friends and was told the food was really good. They were wrong, it was amazing.

I had the lamb and veggies. From start to finish it was amazing. Lamb full of flavour, the gravy was the best I’d had. A nice touch was having some of the Veggies deep fried too, really tasty touch.

Beer was also good. Friendly staff to throw into the mix. Will be taking my partner there very soon.

A must visit.

The food was really fantastic. not a microwaved dish in sight. Excellent choice, beautifully prepared and delicious. The sweet potato and pesto soup was exceptional. The brie strong and flavoursome with the cranberry jam, yum. Steaks cooked to perfection. Its like going to a friends house who serves exceptional food. Staff are friendly and unique. We'll be back very soon.

The pub is under new management and this was our first meal since they took over.
I went with family for a Sunday lunch and we all left full and happy - we had a beef roast, two steak and ale pies and the plaice bon femme (a mushroom sauce for those, like us, not in the know!).

Staff were welcoming and we were well looked after by our waitress Esme who was courteous and helpful throughout.

The food itself is a marked improvement - our roasties, veg and main dishes all tasted great - it's home cooked food done very well. Most importantly, it felt like proper value for money - too many pubs serve up food well below the gastropub prices they're charging!

Well worth a visit, we will be back!
