I have had the opportunity to visit this property twice thus far, and I am excited to return! The managers, Simon and Tanya are very helpful and friendly. It is always a pleasant experience communicating with them! The food is quite good and so are the service and tours offered.....

Our family stayed in the Plantation House. It is huge and very nostalgic. If you are looking for a 5-star hotel with all the modern amenities - this is NOT the property for you. However, if you want old-world charm and comforts (think an affluent great-grandparents home!), friendly people and are OK being slightly "off the grid", you will love it like we did. My teenager suffered minor wifi withdrawal but soon settled in on the balcony sofa with her books and joined us playing cocoa plantation board games - they have a great selection in the house. (There was reliable wifi in the restaurant.) The meals were lovely. Mike cooks fork-to-table based on what ingredients he is able to obtain that day. So, there isn't really a menu although he does accommodate dietary constraints and seek input about taste preferences. We spent a delightful day just lazing by the infinity pool and walking in the plantation. Mike happily switched from making us breakfast to a brunch as all the guests felt like sleeping in a bit. It was a charming, tranquil break and we are so glad we visited. We would certainly visit again. Note: The new managers are making improvements around the property to add some more amenities. However, they were very careful to ensure that the work did not disturb our tranquility. The staff were all very friendly. We hope the charm and casual vibe remains.

Room tip: The Plantation House is great for families - lots of room

Thank you for your review highlighting the character of the Plantation House (dating back to 1763) and the lovely meals prepared by Mike with our own and local produce. Good to hear the new cocoa plantation board games were played. So glad you enjoyed your stay in our tranquil surroundings and the team hope to welcome you back again soon.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of 21st century life, this is the place to come! Away from the touristy areas in the south of Grenada, but less than an hour from the airport, we found this beautiful plantation hotel, nestling in acres of lush tropical vegetation and with amazing views of the Caribbean Sea. Our room was in the old nutmeg processing barn - spacious, comfortable and well appointed. Other rooms are in the old 17th century main house, full of lovely antique furniture and would be great for family groups.Three new rooms are currently being built under the dining terrace, all of which have spectacular views. The two infinity pools also share this view and we loved gazing out to the sea and watching passing yachts glide past. Simon and Tanya are the lovely host managers, who looked after us with so much warmth and attention to detail. Tanya is a great cook. Breakfasts were freshly prepared, with bowls of fruit from the estate, good SpiceIsland coffee and eggs from the farm prepared any way. For dinner we enjoyed Caribbean shrimp curry, Red snapper and Butterfish from the local fish market. Desserts were also scrumptious and my wife just had to get hold of the recipe for the coconut pie. There is a marked trail round the estate with signs pointing out the various local fruit trees. The only noise is the sound of birds and the occasional screech from the peacock that stands sentinel at the gate! When we left, we felt completely refreshed and relaxed. Would love to visit again.

One of the highlights of our trip!
We decided to explore the island and came upon this beautiful property.
Simon and Tanya were so flexible as we just showed up a couple days earlier the originally planned. They both made us feel so welcomed. They were excellent and attentive. We were there for only one day/night but the stay was fantastic, awesome food and the view and sunset was spectacular!
We would definitely recommend this place and we will return one day!

Like many travelers, we are sometimes tempted by the easy, well-trod path that leads to the corporate or chain experience. When we stay true to ourselves and, ahem, take the road less travelled, something special and memorable usually awaits.

In this case, we found magic.

Perhaps 200 feet above the blue, blue sea, there was peace, beauty, elegance, nature, cuisine, and some of the friendliest hosts we have ever come across. It is not a beach resort. It is even, perhaps, not for everyone. And, maybe that is why our visit was so special. We will not forget our time here.

Highly recommended.
