“Clean, Comfortable, Welcoming”
Reviewed 22 June 2011

I was on my first ever visit to that part of Ireland and found Cross Square Hotel clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. I also found the accommodation comfortable and the food good and well presented. I also found both food and accommodation excellent value. The location is also superb, set in a rural area, yet with easy access to Dundalk and Newry. The town car park is just across the road and free of charge, and a supermarket with filling station nearby. Also enjoyed a pleasant evening in the bar with some friendly locals.

A group of five of us had lunch there. The staff were exceptionally friendly, the food was very good, the place clean and modern and the value for money amazing.

On Saturday last I visited the South Armagh area for the first time in my life and this included lunch at your hotel. I would have to say that the welcome we received in a number of locations (including both sides of the community) was exemplary. We had a very pleasant lunch in the bar of your hotel and found the staff very hospitable and capable. Just before we left, we had a most engaging conversation with a clergyman and his wife about the current aspirations for the South Armagh/Slieve Gullion area as things move on. He was most helpful in terms of understanding some of the current thinking and how deep some of the wounds are. It was a memorable visit. I have only one suggestion. You should increase the price of your lunchtime menu; the prices are ridiculous.

Had a group of 14 staying here for a weekend. We were taking part in a football compatition in crossmaglen. This is our second year staying here and none of our girls have had a complaint. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are very warm. They are also very accomadating as they served breakfast til 11.30 to suit us as they knew we wud have a late night. I would highly recomend this hotel and we will be staying here again next year.

The Only Hotel In Ireland with Irish People working there that I have come across.
It was a treat to hear Irish accents. The room was warm, great location right in the middle of a nice town square which had a lovely monument. It was right by bank machines, very friendly pubs. The food at the restaurant in the lobby was great & the People were super friendly
