This cafe is a true gem. we booked in advance and the table was in a light and airy cubicle and so clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Our food was beautifully presented and most enjoyable, we had filled Derbyshire oatcakes which came with salad, homemade coleslaw and crisps , followed by the best Bakewell tart I have ever tasted served with clotted cream or ice cream. all at an amazing reasonable price.

Altogether a wonderful experience which made our day,
Thankyou so much.-we will be back.

Well, what a find this cafe was! After a walk along the Monsal Trail, we popped into Bakewell for something to eat.

We went up the spiral staircase and received a pleasant welcome and were quickly shown to a table for four in a booth (most tables seemed to be arranged like this which is ideal in these Covid-restricted times). The menu is on a chalk-board on the wall inside each booth so no menu to handle which is good.

Food was delicious and arrived quickly. I had a sausage sandwich on toasted ciabatta bread and could not fault the quantity or quality. Very seldom do you get a sausage with no lumps of fat or gristle yet this is what I received - wonderful!

Good value for money too!

Whilst waiting for your food, you can peruse the antique items for sale - there is an eclectic mix of things to be sure!

Sadly, we were too early to try the cakes.

Perhaps the best plan when walking the Monsal Trail is to start at this cafe in Bakewell with a 'light bite' for breakfast, walk the trail and return later for some tea and cake!

Highly recommended.

Nice to have a cuppa whilst browsing, they managed to squeeze us in and we were allowed to bring the dog which is lovely, thank you.

Our first eating in experience for a very long time. However no worries , we had to book of course and we wore masks in public areas as did the staff. The tables were organised with privacy and distancing in mind. The food was extremely tasty and well presented perfect for a lunch time treat. The staff were very friendly and I would certainly return next time I visit Bakewell.
