...for an uncomfortable bed, no tissues, no toilet role holder. We had to ask for a top sheet and for curtains to block out the early-morning light. The door to the room steps leads immediately onto a rather treacherous staircase. In a town of incredible charm, this accommodation was an extreme disappointment (particularly compared to what we anticipated from the website description). The room was cluttered with unnecessary old furniture instead of leaving room for suitcases. Cookies left in room were past their use-by-date. Breakfast was quite acceptable.

Great central location and welcoming host. The room was lovely, clean and spacious. The bed was large and comfortable. We bought our 7 week old with us and the host was very accommodating. Shower and breakfast was great too!

Cannot rate highly enough. Warm welcome, gorgeous cosy traditional room, great food and hospitality. Location is central to everything and recommendations given. Wifi code and sky tv, en-suite to the room we had. Would definitely stay here again.

The house is old and very charming, conveniently located just moments from the heart of the town but in a quiet side street. It is a grade two listed property and retains many original features with the addition of the owners personal style, making it a very relaxing and welcoming place to stay. The two main bedrooms are a good size, one is en-suite, the other shares a bathroom with a single room. The single room is small but this is made clear on booking and it is very well priced. Breakfast is exceptional, lots of choice, freshly cooked and well presented (with a smile) The house is warm, beds are comfortable, lots of clean towels and generally an air of generous hospitality.

We stayed here for just one night and wished we could have booked for more. Tucked away on a side road, this centrally located B&B was perfect for our weekend away.
Janette welcomed us upon arrival and she was the perfect host! She hit he balance of being friendly, chatty and helpful, whilst leaving us to our own devices to enjoy her lovely home. We stayed in two of her rooms: the single room, sharing a bathroom with another room, and an en suite double. Both of these rooms were very well kept and comfortable and quiet (despite being within a stones throw of the centre of Bakewell and justxarond the corner from the Medway Centre).
We ate ate Raja’s Indian restaurant, which was at the end of the street.
Breakfast was fabulous, an array of cereals, fruit, toast and yoghurts awaited us in the pretty dining room while our delicious full English breakfast was prepared.
Our stay cannot be faulted - we will definitely be back!
