Welcome arrival felt very safe very dog friendly. room was excellent with all the coffee and tea you would want including sherry. Room and bathroom very clean. Breakfast was awesome, we had dinner 2 nights and was very good and good value. Very close to Monsal trail in fact view it from bedroom.
Would Recommend to all

Have just returned from a very pleasant stay at the monsal head hotel. The decor is a little dated in places but our rooms were newly decorated to a good standard and the view from our room was fabulous.Thank you to all the friendly staff and a special thanks to Kevin who looked outside for us when we had trouble finding it .Food at breakfast and in the evening was very good and the stables bar is very interesting to be in.I would have felt a little more relaxed had the staff been wearing face masks but i understand the guidance has now been changed and the wearing of masks is mandatory in hospitality settings.

Room tip: Ask for a room with a view of the viaduct, its spectacular.

Perfect place to stay, area very picturesque some of the rooms in the Hotel Are slightly dated, but didn’t deter from wanting to return again.
Bar menu fairly reasonable but the special dinner menu we felt was perhaps a bit expensive @ 19.95

Visited hotel/pub whilst on our travels spoke to lady as wanted to use bathroom before our walk then come back to eat. She was lovely but busy so bumped into Gentlemen asked him the same thing and he was rude and made me feel awful on our first holiday to the peaks! Just wanted to make people aware!

I booked our dog friendly room direct for our Bank Holiday break. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and manager. The room had been refurbished to an excellent standard. The view from our room was amazing over looking the valley. The one negative comment about our room was the emergency lighting has a green led which was very bright when we switched the lights off a night. I had to wear my eye mask to sleep. The breakfast was delicious both mornings and filled us up for the days walking. A lovely touch on the second morning the manager bought out a cold sliced sausage for our border collie. Needless to say moo enjoyed it. All well behaved dogs are welcome which is brilliant for us dog owners. All the staff are friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Under covid rules they weren't able to enter our room so asked if we need any tea or coffee refills, when we returned later that day they were placed outside our room. I would definitely recommend this hotel for walkers and dog owners.
