We had booked to celebrate a special occasion. We were given a choice of tables, which was great. However, It took a while for anyone to get us a drink (and they were not that busy), and to take our order. Our first gin order was not supported by a knowlegdable waiter at all and did not offer any recommendation for a tonic/mixer, unlike last time we were at Juniper. We are not gin people, so help with this kind of thing is the reason we came back, along with the pizza. Our starters arrived promptly as did our pizza. The staff were excellent in checking on my request for a gluten free base and took pains to make sure I realised it wasn’t totally gluten free. I am not gluten intolerant, but cannot eat bread in the evening without feeling ill the next day. However, I realised gluten intolerant people have it hard. The base tasted and had the texture of cardboard. I think I will risk stomach pains and have the real thing next time! For our second and third gin, we had the help of a brilliant waitress who really knew her gins. With her help and knowledge we found a fab pineapple gin and mixer. The staff should be aware that all their conversations behind the bar are fully audible to the customers and don’t always make for a relaxing atmosphere. Also the men’s toilets could do with a proper clean. All in all, an average experience which was a little disappointing.

We came on holiday, our first to Bakewell and on Monday night we were finding it hard to get somewhere pleasant to eat which would not involve breaking the bank, or be Asian cuisine (as already done this)...Juniper fitted the bill. At first we thought the pizza's were a bit pricey until they came out that is. They were large and laden with toppings well worth the cost - in fact I could not finish mine so I was offered a box to take the rest home. The staff were lovely and their knowledge and advice re the gins was faultless. An excellent evening - we will be back should we visit Bakewell again.

Popped in for a simple pizza and lager meal. There is a good range of options for food and the pizzas are a good size - no stingy pizza express portions here!

They have Thornbridge "Lukas" on tap which is great. Also a huge range of gin which we might sample next time. Excellent service too.

We had a brilliant time - the staff were friendly and knowledgeable (able to give good advice about both the drinks and food menus). The pizzas were delicious - and they've just started serving pizza with a vegan cheese! Which was astonishingly nice - the cheese melted beautifully and had a lovely savoury taste. The potato wedges were inexplicably gorgeous, will have to go for them again. And oh, the gins.

Pleasant room with really lovely serving team.
Good selection of gins and small menu based largely on pizza.
Food was delicious. We shared Italian meats , tempura prawns and chicken and then a couple of pizzas and salads which were excellent.
If there’d been a pud it would be 5 stars !
