We rented this apartment for a family get together over a long weekend at the end of October. It is in a great location just 2 minutes walk to Portstewart promenade. The apartment has big picture windows with fantastic views over the sea towards Portrush. It is a bright modern, well furnished apartment.
We were provided with a welcome pack with tea, milk, bread and butter. There was a supply of washing up liquid, dishwasher and washing machine tablets, cling film etc. This is not often provided in other places where we have stayed and was very helpful.
The apartment has 3 bedrooms : double with ensuite shower room, a room with twin beds and one with a double bed. There is a separate bathroom. The shower in the ensuite has good pressure however the shower over the bath is not usable. We found it a bit of a disadvantage only having one shower with six adults. It meant when our son got up to go to work he had to come through our room early in the morning to get to the shower. The beds were okay although there was a bit of a dip in the middle of our mattress.
The apartment has a large living area with comfy sofas. There is balcony where you can sit out in warm weather. There is underfloor heating which took a while to warm up on our first day but after that it was lovely and warm which was great with strong winds outside.
As we had booked the apartment out of season there was no one booked in before or after us and the owner let us access the apartment early on the first day and stay for the whole day on our final day. There was no extra charge for this and it was much appreciated.
I would like to have given 4 and a half stars for this review as so much was excellent ( it was really just the lack of a second shower stopped me from giving 5 stars. We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment and would be happy to return on another occasion.
The apartment is very large, clean, very warm and quickly becomes home from home... the real selling points are the view and the location! You can (and I did) sit in the chair at the big window half looking out at the sea and half reading a book for hours! You have panoramic views of the Atlantic round to Portstewart/Portrush coast.
You are also only a few minutes from the promenade with its vast array of coffee shops, lovely little restaurants and ice cream parlours.
Arrival and departure was made easy with the owner (Angela) and Eileen texting to get things organised. Apartment is clean, with everything you’ll need for your stay and the shower is very powerful (simple things make it good).
If I’m staying in Portstewart again this will be the first place I will check for availability!
Lovely apartment exactly as it was advertised, beautiful views and within easy walking distance from restaurants etc.
We stayed at this wonderful apartment for 4 nights in June. The owners met us on arrival and showed us around their beautiful home, we were delighted with how bright, spacious and airy it was and the views are exceptional, we spent hours just sitting looking out the windows and listening to the waves as we lay in bed at night.
The 3 bedrooms are all of a good size, two have sea views. The apartment is very private. The living room, dining area and kitchen are open plan and their are sliding doors that open up onto a small balcony area in the dining area. There was a handy welcome pack, with milk, butter, bread etc and there were some bits in the cupboard so we didn't need to buy salt and pepper, sauce and ice.
The apartment is just round the corner from the main promenade, with restaurants, coffee bars and bars in easy walking distance. Easy access to Giant's Causeway and the beautiful coastline.
I would recommend this accommodation to couples, families and friends.
Be warned, it's on the 3rd floor, 50 steps. It kept us fit.
Whilst tempted to keep this perfect heavenly place quiet in case it gets fully booked and we can't go back, it wouldn't be fair.
As a very hardworking couple with 4 children, ages going from 6 years up to 19 years, we were really looking forward to this holiday and it truly didn't disappoint. The lovely caretaker Eileen met us there with a lovely welcoming smile and hug and couldn't do enough for us. The owners are also fabulous, friendly and very helpful recommending places etc.
We walked into the living room and despite already seeing the lovely photo's on here, it still took our breath away. Spectacular, our only complaint, it has completely spoilt us for future holidays, I don't think we'll ever be able to find a nicer place. To sit in the most comfortable chair ever looking all round at the sea crashing in on the rocks, watching the boats bobbing along and falling asleep, looking out at the sea and listening to the waves is the most relaxing thing ever! The apartment is decorated and furnished perfectly. My husband who never likes to go away for long as he's a homebird, was devastated leaving it to come back home and we are already planning our next visit.
Portstewart is such a beautiful seaside town.
A must to visit - Giant Causeway, Carrick a Rede Rope Bridge, Morelli's Icecream Parlour in Portstewart, white rock beach (I think it's called on coastal route) and The Anchorage Inn for good food, drink and friendly atmosphere. We also did the causeway coastal route drive to Belfast 2-3 hrs, Crawfordsburn Park (has country walks, 2 beaches, waterfall etc) so much to do, we didn't want to do everything as we want an excuse to come back very, very soon ;-)
