Popped in on spec at teatime of Saturday evening and our party of 3 were seated immediately. Whilst waiting on drinks noticed that the dining room had undergone a transformation since we had last visited early last year. Very tastefully redecorated. Meal ordered and when it arrived we were very impressed. My wife and I had the half chicken which was moist on the inside whilst the skin was beautifully crisp. Her father had the gammon (which I'll have on our next visit) which was a very generous portion as half of it came home with him. The bedrooms we discovered speaking to the owner who popped by our table when we'd finished eating have all been refurbished and the next project is the basement bar which is being repurposed as a "Gin Bar" in the near future. The Niteclub has also undergone some work and now has a separate entrance from the function/conference rooms. All in all a delightful experience and my wife can't wait for the bar to become the Gin Bar. I can't recommend a visit for dinner, drinks or a stay at The Belmont hotel highly enough. Jonto is bringing this once great venue back to it's former glory.

On Saturday night my husband and our friends dined downstairs at the Belmont. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and friendly efficient staff. We all ordered something different and we all enjoyed our starters and main meals. I had the gammon, it was delicious and the chips were excellent. We did not have a dessert, instead we sat on and had more wine and had a very relaxing evening. We will be recommending this hotel to our family and friends.

We stayed in Room 10, the room was stylish and beautiful last time we stayed was our honeymoon and we could not recommend this hotel enough. All the staff and management, as always were brilliant and our meal was excellent, loving the new improvements to the rooms and nightclub.

Room Tip: Room 10 has lovely views and very stylish

Second time we have stayed in this hotel. Loved it the first time, but even more on the second trip as in a year, they had upgraded and refurbished all the bedrooms. beautiful décor, stylish and contemporary. we were in room 10, overlooks the front of the building. Amazing light fitting in the ceiling which cast beautiful light over the whole room at night. incredibly comfortable beds, pristine bedding. they were expecting the new flat screen TV on the day we were leaving, but nothing too much trouble, and they sourced one for us to use during our stay. Lovely restaurant in the basement, locals use ii, as so well known, especially for its rib eye steak, Breakfast again plentiful, and very tasty - full Irish !! Beautiful breakfast room. We arrived on a Saturday, and the hotel had a lovely lively buzz about it. Diners in the grand dining room overlooking the gardens, and a private 70th birthday party in another room. Will choose this hotel again and again. Staff are very professional , extremely helpful and friendly.Owners are always on hand, just seems a very happy place. Don't hesitate to book - you wont be disappointed.

Room Tip: all rooms are of a very high standard
