Over the last few years I have spent a lot of time here. The food is very different to anywhere else, much more healthy I would imagine. I love the dishes with egg and chorizo. The soups and stews are packed with flavour and again a little different from everywhere else served with delicious breads. The staff are extremely friendly. The only problem I have is that it can be very busy which just proves how good it is

This is a real gem of a cafe in an unsuspecting area of Northern Ireland. Thought you had to go to the North coast for an avo on sourdough? Think again. This menu changes quite often, offering up all kinds of taste explosions from fancy beans on toast to cracking soups. They have really top quality coffee and very skilled baristas. In fact the coffees are like what you would get in Melbourne Austrailia. All of the staff are really welcoming and happy to help with any of your coffee questions. Great overall atmosphere, cool vibes and people who really know their coffee - a trio that is often hard to come by in Northern Ireland. This is a genuinely cool place without the pretentiousness that you get in other cafes that are trying too hard (cough General Merchants cough). Highly recommended.

Ate at Haptik with family recently. Easy to see why its number one rated in Nards. Creative lunches and nice coffees. Fresh ingredients and nicely presented. Staff very friendly and helpful. Slightly pricey perhaps.

My grand tour of must visit NI coffee shops continued with an early morning pre hockey (watching not playing) breakfast at Haptik. With a 40 minute window (before my son’s match started) on a wet Saturday I was first in the door and greeted by a lovely friendly member of staff who pointed me towards the table beside the radiator! The kitchen doesn’t open until 9am but an excellent espresso, pot of tea and a creamy Danish cinnamon ‘bun’ proved to be a tasty breakfast which suited me perfectly! I loved the ambience of the place with its reclaimed wooden floors, brick fireplaces with log piles and old school room chairs! If you’re ever in Newtownards (I’m not a local) it’s definitely worth a visit!
