“"One night stay - bed really bad!”
Reviewed 15 January 2012

For christmas headed to this country club for a one night stay to relax after a really busy christmas and new year. Firstly when we arrived we stood at the front desk for 10minutes with no one around. If the room wasnt already prebooked I would have walked. I had to ring the hotel while standing there so that someone would come to the front desk. Not a good start. Payed extra for the deluxe room and was to be honest slightly disappointed. Don't get me wrong the room size was fine and the view onto the glof course was nice. However the bed was terrible. For a deluxe I was so annoyed! You sat on it and it seemed to scream - You couldnt move without it making some sort of noise. And the worst part was the fact that it had no head board so there was a gap between the wall and my pillow. I found myself during the night waking due to fact that my head was falling down the gap as it kept swallowing my pillow.
To be honest for that amount of stars on a hotel very disappointed.
Maybe the standard rooms are fine I dont know - but if I ever need to return I will not be upgrading

Room Tip: Dont pay for the extra Deluxe room - too be honest its not worth it

i go to this hotel with my mum, and husband a few times and have always had a relaxing stay. Ate in the restaruant once and it was perfect portions are big food is good heartly meals no fancy small thing on a plate. The pool area is great for swim before breakfast, they have a sauna and spa type area though i have never used them seem always to be busy. Def recommend for getting away from it stay or if you like golf as tehy have a fantastic green.

Stayed in Summer 2011 as part of a friends wedding party.

Rooms spacious and clean, we had a great view of the golf course from our room. We were also given free wine on arrival.

Large buffet breakfast available and a couple of bars within the hotel. Apparently the golf course is of a good standard too.

Used pool/sauna etc and all were of a good standard and clean. Staff were very friendly and gave us a razor and a toothbrush!

Room Tip: Try for a room to the rear of the hotel overlooking the golf course/countryside

We stayed for the 3 day Christmas break which was excellent. The rooms were lovely and there were snowman and Santa lollies and a Christmas card left in the room.
The food was first class, plenty of choice and staff very pleasant and helpful.
There were several activities organised- table quiz, bingo, treasure hunt, and guess the weight of the Christmas cake competition.
There was a present at the table for our daughter and Santa was present on Christmas day.
All in all a stress free Christmas break which was thoroughly enjoyed.

Clean and comfortable hotel in a good location, near to Belfast International airport. Room was beautiful and the hotel has excellent leisure facilities. Only drawback was the evening meal, which was truly dreadful. Even though it was the week before Christmas, only 4 couples were dining there, which should have warned us. I ordered duck (at a supplement) and it was too tough to cut, let alone eat. My husband ordered turkey and it came with pale vegetables and a scoop of mashed potato, all just slopped onto his plate; more like a school dinner than a decent restaurant. I ordered Christmas pudding to follow and it was burnt! The fruit was so caramelised, it stuck my teeth together! I complained and did not pay for the meal, but I didn't really care about the money, I had been looking forward to staying here at the end of a trying business trip and it was such a big disappointment. If you come here, you may want to eat elsewhere!
