Starters and main courses were all tasty and well presented, plated. Beer/lager too expensive and 175cc wines @ £5.35 each far too expensive. 2-course menu @£11.95 was a good attractive price. Service was excellent. Excessive noise (loud chatter!) from adjacent tables was disrupting and we almost complained. Would put me off going again at least for a while,

We visited on route to Knebworth with two young children. Our visit was very pleasant from start to finish with excellent, attentive service, a good menu for adults and children and a very nice setting. Whilst none of the above are rocket science to achieve in principle, we regularly eat out at supposedly similar places and rarely enjoy it as much as this. Also good value for money.

My wife and I have been having lunch here on Christmas eve for years, more than I can remember! Last year it was a complete shambles, no getting away from it and this year we had very low expectations as we mounted the steps to the door. To our delight it was more than back to the 'Good old days'! Our waitress, Katie and all the other staff were welcoming, efficient and had the knack of being polite without being intrusive! We both had the roasts which were very good indeed! Adnams Ghost ship on draught, another 'star'. The service was speedy enough and the food good. Keep that up and it won't be just once a year we eat here!

Had an excellent Christmas Day dinner very good choice on menu, all food was very tasty, served hot by happy staff. Everything was done very professionally and all 11 of us went away very contented and very full. Would definitely recommend and would do all again next year!

Had an excellent Christmas Day lunch at the Red Lion. Very good menu , with some different choices. Cooked to perfection. Pleanty of turkey and trimings. Served by cheerful and attentive staff. Well done. Made our day. Would recommend.
