First time here for us, but a local watering hole for family.
Sits nicely on infirmary hill, set back slightly off the road, with nice views back towards the city centre and cathedral.
It’s one of the new gastro pubs, very open plan, all mixed up interior design, but very well kept and the odd design works.
Staff were friendly, quite efficient, except they mixed up the drinks order, and once we had finished we had to ask for the bill twice, before just giving up and paying at the bar, it wasn’t over busy, so I think they just became inattentive.
We all had something different to eat, two types of fish, two types of meat, it did take longer than we thought to arrive, but when you have such a mixed order, it’s Difficult to get them all ready and to the table at once, I’m not talking more than 20 minutes or so, but acceptable.
The food was lovely, all were cooked to the order correctly, both types of steak and fish excellent.
Overall, a good experience, £100 for four of us, including drinks, so very well priced for the quality of food.
We would recommend anyone to try this establishment, it’s only a few minutes walk out to the city centre.

Service was good but the food was ordinary and overpriced It is up the hill in Lemon Street and has a good outlook. Unfortunately, we will not go again.

A great location at the top of the hill with outside seating.
The service was polite and attentive with a good choice of menu and a specials board.
Part of our meal was not that hot, the staff were really quick to respond and were very apologetic, a new meal was cooked and this was very tasty.

This is a great find in Truro. A pub with friendly, young and competent staff and a good range of drinks and cocktails.
We visit Truro frequently (Mother-in-law lives in the town), and we stay in a few places when doing so. On this occasion we were staying at Merchant House on Falmouth Road, and the Thomas Daniell proved to be the ideal place to pop in for drink or three when making the ascent from the town centre up Lemon Street.
The pub is located on the junction of Daniell Street and Infirmary Hill and opposite the large monument to Richard Lander (the 19th century Truro born explorer who was the son of the innkeeper of the Fighting Cocks {now the Dolphin Inn} ).
We visited the pub several times during our stay in Truro but it was only for a drink as we had eaten elsewhere with Mother-in-Law. As such we cant comment on the food, although it did seem that other customers looked content with their plates of food. We will have to give it a go next time.

We dined three times in this lovely restaurant which also looks very attractive from the outside.
Each time we were impressed. We loved the food and drinks; you get good quality and quantity for your money. Is is all so honest and light. I had for instance an excellent preparation of chicken and risotto...
The service is excellent. We did not have to wait long and the staff is super friendly.
The place is a bit boisterous but we love it because it is sparkling with this young, fresh and kind touch brought along also by the original decoration, the staff and the youngsters eating there or having a drink.
We are seniors but we love this kind of places run by young people making efforts to do a good job with pleasure and offering very good products!
