Description: Voted in the 20 top Curry restaurants in the UK. You will find the Kathmandu in the shadow of the Cathedral in the heart of Truro. A cosy and relaxed establishment in Truro, the Kathmandu is hosted by charismatic and friendly hosts Raj and his family. Fresh herbs and ingredients are used to ensure the best curry experience, so that you can enjoy eating healthier and exotic Nepalese flavours. As a result the mouthwatering dishes are a lot lighter and more subtle than traditional Indian fayre.

All that a good restaurant should be. Really superb Nepalese food - the best Asian food I've had for a very long time. The staff were friendly and pleasant and also took real trouble to make sure we were looked after. It was a family birthday meal for our son and they offered complementary extra dishes and drinks. Special event or not, I would highly recommend it.

Small restaurant with the tables too close to each other, decorated with a carpet from probably 1975.

Dishes would be reasonably priced at £7 per dish if placed in Birmingham but reaches much more than that probably because of the location only.

It's a very busy restaurant & small so booking is advisable, because of this if you are a couple some of the tables are very tight. The best one is near the aquarium. Not sure if the staff that greeted us were new (never been before) but the first table they showed us was in a room off the main area, which was very tight. When we refused they seemed unsure what to do. The food was lovely & the waiting staff were very helpful. When it's says its hot it really is so make sure you ask for a milder version if you don't like it hot particularly the Sherpa Lamb. The lekali chicken was great. Will definitely go again.

Came here for a birthday meal with 16 people. The welcome was warm and inviting, despite the restaurant being very busy (both sit-in and takeout).

I sampled many dishes from my friends and each was prepared with unique care and attention. A great selection of flavors and techniques that transcends you regular Asian restaurant. A great selection of Nepalese specialties as well as perfectly rendered 'classic' meals.

Everybody left happy and will be coming back.
I am grateful to these guys for making the event so delicious. Many thanks

We were really looking forward to this meal as we had something to celebrate maybe we had built this place up to something else in our heads but tbh I was underwhelmed with the restaurant, tables are very close together and it is very bright so didn't feel like the romantic setting I'd quite hoped for...the food was nice enough but tbh we have had much nicer I suppose the test for us always is would we recommend to our family and friends...probably not we would say it's decidedly average....the staff are friendly food is ok, surroundings missing something...
