Beautiful locally sourced food. Service excellent and without asking a special touch as it was my mums birthday. Lovely setting we had a chance to enjoy the terrace and finished our meal inside with coffee in the sofa area. Highly recommended.

Occupying the building that was the cafe/ shop of a former garden centre, this restaurant offers an excellent menu, well cooked and presented.
Our scallops, turbot and pork fillet dishes were all very good.
The white Rioja we had to accompany the fish was a good choice.

It’s taken a while to write this review after visiting in March for Mother’s Day. The setting is lovely and the service we received on the day was exemplary. The actual food was a bit hit and miss, but I must stress this was not because there was anything wrong with it, but more personal taste and preference. We tried a range of choices from the starters, some we’ve never tried before - some we liked and others we didn’t, the main course of roast, on the whole went down well. The vegetables were cooked to perfection and the meat tender, the only thing none of us could eat were the temptingly crispy roast potatoes, which was such a shame as who doesn’t love a crispy roast potato? I think they are cooked in goose fat or beef fat (not really sure) and whilst I know lots of people love that, we just didn’t like the taste or indeed the aftertaste. I’m afraid we prefer potatoes cooked in veg or sunflower oil probably because a few of us are not huge meat lovers. The dessert was fantastic and ample portion sizes. We will definitely visit again but not for Sunday lunch.

This was the restaurant’s first attempt at a food and wine evening. The theme was Spanish. The wines were very good as was the food and service. The main course was the weakest but still very good. It was a little dry although the flavours were all there - perhaps something like a sauce vierge around the edge of the plate would have helped. The manchego cheese and white chocolate pre dessert was amazing. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for both food and service and we are looking forward to future special events.

There were lots of reviews of this place but we were disappointed. We had to wait quite a while for our menu let alone the food - we were there nearly an hour before starters came out, and even longer for plates to be cleared away. It took an hour and a half to get our starter and then our main meal, I believe we prob then waited half an hour for the plates to be cleared, Even though waitresses kept walking past or closing the window close to us. The roast dinner was nothing special, I’ve had worst and I’ve had better. Area was really nice, location spot on, but didn’t live up to the reputation. Glad we tried but probably won’t be back. Looked like you probably got better service if you were first in, as a table after us (our table was booked for 1pm on a Sunday) had to wait ages to be sat down. Plus on the website it stated you could only have the table for 2 hours, however we were waiting for someone to take our plates and take our desert order at the 2 hour mark. We did think about skipping desert but some of us had only had a main so had to get our second course as it was a min 2 course. One of our guests ordered a drink when the main meal was brought out and got it with her desert. Okay it was on the house as she forgot but even so, didn’t help my guest when she had no drink with her main meal.
