This home is a work of art. The small footprint and use of natural materials was creative and attractive. The unique design made living here very comfortable. The rooms are arranged so that there are plenty of private areas to enjoy, indoors and out. The large hammock chair on the front porch was a perfect place to sit while watching the sunsets, and the back deck for bird watching in the forest. The interior seating areas in the dining room, kitchen bar area, and living room provided ample and comfortable seating. The best part were the beds. The quality of the linens and bedding were tops. The mosquito netting was new and clean. There was enough hot water for a decent shower.
We used the lovely swimming pool often and were always the only people there. The howler monkeys were often up in the trees sleeping. I have to say I was disappointed that I never heard them howling.
I was quite amazed to hear that there is 24 hour security and an emergency button within the house to call for help if needed. Cleaning people came on a regular basis. The Internet was quite reliable.
It is quite far from San Juan Del Sur and 4 WD is definitely needed. There are great beaches nearby but again, a 4 WD is needed to get there.
Don't freak out when they tell you about the scorpions. They are not the deadly kind. Just be cautious.

“Unforgettable Holiday”

This spring my amazing husband planned a surprise trip for me and my two girls to Nicaragua at Casa Tres Peces after I went through a tough 6 months of surgery and breast cancer treatments. It was an incredible vacation. The house was luxurious and had everything that we needed and the views were spectacular! We loved drinking wine on the swinging bed and watching the sun set over the ocean and the lush forests. Or if we were lazy, swinging in the hammock on the back deck with the howler monkeys playing over head and letting out their indescribable howls (weirdest sound ever, you have to go just to hear that!). During the day there is so much to do. Whether its visiting the picturesque town of San Juan del Sur and shopping in the outdoor market or little shops and restaurants, or whether its visiting the many, many beaches that are close by, there is something for everyone. Some days we lazed on our own private beach and swam in the warm waters, other days we went to watch the surfers attack the huge surf or we went to a beach that had smaller waves and tried boogie boarding ourselves. We also went horseback riding at Rancho Chilamate and had a spectacular sunset ride on the beach! All of it was in beautiful settings with lots of wildlife and friendly locals. I can’t thank Laura and Joel enough as they were integral to making this happen for us. They were always available and helped my husband plan every step of the way. It would not have gone so seamlessly without them! They helped create a very special memory for me and my family during a very difficult time in my life and I will always treasure it and be forever grateful to them!
