We absolutely loved this place. The room was fantastic, the grounds well kept, and the owners were very attentive and friendly. It's places like this that make people want to come back for a second, third or forth visit. The location just South of Clarence Town was very convenient. There are lots to see on that end of the island. The room was laid out and decorated very nicely. We were comfortable beyond expectations. We WILL be going back to Long Island, and when we do, this is where we'll stay.

Room Tip: All rooms seem excellent. We were in the side building on the top floor facing the bay. BEAUTIFUL view!

We recently returned from another terrific visit to Gems. Had a great time, just like our past visits. Hance was as helpful and friendly as ever. As always we rented a Jeep from Unique wheels and spent many hours exploring from Cape Santa Maria to Gordons and everything in between.
Looking forward to return soon.

Room Tip: ALWAYS rent a vehicle!

I stayed at Gems for a week in the 2 bedroom with kitchen. It was just my husband and I but the extra space was fine. I loved sitting on the deck since the views were amazing. I spent a lot of time at the private beach and there's a shady area to sit and read. Truly a wonderful place! The weather was perfect in early April, sunny with low humidity.

Room Tip: The wifi in our room was troublesome but it was easy enough to go into the lobby and use the general wifi.

We stayed in a King room, part of a 2-bedroom suite with kitchen facing the water and marina across the bay. The bed was comfortable, everything was very clean and nicely decorated. The convenience of having access to a kitchen, which all guests have, was a budget booster. Breakfasts are available, from pancakes, eggs any style, to Bahamian breakfasts, and dinners are also available if booked ahead. Jennifer does a great job cooking. Hance was friendly and helpful, and the location was perfect for visiting the southern part of the island.

Room Tip: King room is comfortable for couples

This is our second stay at Gems at Paradise! And fully planning to go back!

We contacted Shavonne over email about availability (even though all details are listed on the website, duh), and to arrange a rental car (she came back with two options).

This time we booked a balcony room (AC - we never used, balcony with amazing sunrise and sea views, king sized bed, and minifridge in the room). Guests have full use of the main kitchen too (stove, microwave, larger fridge with freezer).

We loved it as usual, from the early mornings, enjoying the sunrise on the balcony or from the dock by the water, to the delicious breakfast and dinner (we had cooked by superstar chef Jennifer, to the very cozy private beach with crystal clear water, great for swimming and even a little snorkeling.

We spent every day out to an amazing local beach, from the listed ones (Gordon, Dean's Blue Hole) to a seemly endless number of basically deserted beaches on the atlantic side, superb clear waters behind protective barrier reefs. We visited 7-8 unlisted beaches in 6 days, and we were the only people on the beach for most of those, except the passing company of boating couple on one and a local family returning from a shore fishing trip on Sunday. For shore seeking peace, amazing swimming, amazing views, and solitude, nothing beats the southern part of Long Island in the Bahamas. We watched 4 sunsets, and then the stars at night.

And we seriously considered buying property on that island.

Room Tip: balcony rooms are great value!
