Le Lans 100% perfection

Review of Hotel Les Lans
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 21 Apr 2024
What can I say about this hotel, the location is great, the rooms clean and big enough, the bar is lovely with the board games at hand, the restaurant is lovely the food is amazing and the owner is 1 in a million.
1. Location is ideal for peace and quite but just near the main gondola, 5 minutes walk to stretch the legs, half way between is the 2000 ski hire shop.
2. The rooms are are not the biggest but big enough for 2 with plenty of storage a nice small bath and a deal only with lovely views
3. The bar is nice and welcoming so that guest interact but also have space for a quite drink
4. The restaurant is set out lovely.
5. The evening meals are amazing each night the 4 course meals are served to you and you get more than enough to fill you up ( the only downside for me was the service was started sometimes gone 8 o’clock which means your eating still gone 9 which I struggled with for sleeping)
6 the owner and staff, all the staff are friendly and very helpful but the owner wow, unfortunately my partners tooth veneer came off on morning so we had this issue to resolve, on speaking to the owner she’s told us it was so difficult to get a dentist for locals never mind tourist but she would try to help. 1 hour 30 minutes later and 27 calls to different dentist she manage to get us an appointment. Some people will say she went above and beyond to help ( and in my view she did) but in all honesty I think she is that kind of lovely host it is second nature she saved us so much stress that day I can not thank her enough.we went out and bought her a lovely scarf to say thank you and she even made the effort to come in the restraint that evening to show us she was wearing it and thank us again bless her.
Will we stay here again in the future 100% yes would I recommend this hotel 100% yes.

Now the added bits, bus stops outside both direction to ski lift or to the village of morzine free travel, ski hire shop close by, gondola 5 minutes walk , Avoriaz ski area was great plenty of snow mid March and beyond, couple of bars within walking distance, no supermarket close by but plenty in morzine 5 minutes on bus.

Room Tip: The only thing I think people should know is food is saved late around 8 to 8-30

My young son and I stayed in Les Lans for a week as clients of Crystal in late March.

I cannot recommend this hotel high enough for anyone wanting to ski in the area. It is a short maybe five minute walk to the cable car lift which takes you up to Avoriaz very quickly. If you are renting skis, you can leave them and your boots at the sports shop very close to the bottom of the lift meaning that you can actually just walk back to the hotel in regular shoes

Les LANs is traditional and very comfortable. The rooms are clean and spacious enough to accommodate ski gear. The bar is cozy and friendly with a woodburning fire.

The staff are all fabulous the lady who runs the hotel is particularly welcoming and friendly. Breakfasts are mainly continental with fruit, yoghurt, cereal, ham, cheese fresh croissants and pain au chocolat but there are also some hot options like scrambled egg and sausage if you want them.

The evening meals are simply outstanding. We had four courses every night with a wide range of dishes from beef casserole, tender lamb and pork fillet to Alpine specialities of fondue and meats grilled at the table. A local cheese with homemade jam was then served before a superbly prepared dessert.

On the last night, my son had just gained his French Ski school gold qualification and the hotel owner made a huge fuss of him with a special dessert and opened the bottle of champagne for all the guests. it was an extraordinarily thoughtful touch which capped off a fabulous week.

I came back telling the rest of the family all about it, and we hope to go en masse very soon!

We returned to Hotel Les Lans after visiting a few years ago. We had another lovely week! The food was incredible. With a cheese fondue night and many other local specialities, and delicious courses. The staff and owner were very friendly and hospitable. The room was very clean and perfect for a couple. We would recommend staying in the hotel to anyone looking to ski in the Portes Du Soleil. Ideal location for the lift up to Avoriaz and easy access to Morzine via free local bus.

Room tip: Similar to before Chambéry Airport can be a nightmare on transfer day.

Most fantastic family run hotel. Great location within walking distance of Prodains cable car to Avoriaz. Aube and her team could not be more welcoming and friendly in their approach to looking after their guests. The real surprise was the wonderful dinner each night which would follow a relaxing hour or so in their bar each evening. This is a real gem in a great location and we look forward to returning.

Excellent family-run hotel. Cosy bar, excellent food, with 4 courses French dinner. Very friendly staff. Great location, near ski-lift to Avoriaz, with busses to/from Geneva and Morzine. Ski-rent nearby, with discount and place to stall ski-gear. Highly recommended! We’ll come back.

Our stay was simply charming. Bedrooms are basic,’clean and quiet everything you need to set up for a day on the slopes.

The gondola is walking distance but there is also a free bus that is regular and stops right outside.

Now the really good bits. The staff are warm and welcoming, and work incredibly hard dawn till night! I’d like to say a special thanks to Florin for looking after us so well. Then the food!!!! Wow where do I start.

5 courses most nights, expertly prepared and presented i was blown away. It was a real treat just the anticipation of what might be in the menu as you arrive home from skiing.

If your looking for a well run, warm home from home with a great chef place to stay, then this place is perfect would definitely stay again. Did I mention the fooooood!
