We visited the Auberge de Cassagne & Spa a friday night, having drove all day. The staff was very friendly and professional, and the food simply excellent. Our 2 kids were pampered, and their parents too. Don't miss this gem, just outside Avignon!

The staff, grounds, pool 5 star the distance from old town and the room lowered it to 4 star and the restaurant was expensive with an expensive wine list which I think was a little over my budget, the breakfast was super, the room floor was damp and just the slight sense of needing a good airing. The pool at night all lite up was absolutely beautiful and the grounds were wonderful but it was hard to get to old town as GPS took you down streets that ended without a turn around and without GPS we would be a week looking for our way back. If you want to stay close but not in town this is the place

Very tentative when we arrived at the hotel. The surroundings were very peculiar as it was more in a neighborhood and not near vineyards or a city. The lobby was nice and they greeted us pleasantly.

Comments:
- Upgraded to a nicer room at check-in, however, it was quite small and the AC was mild. They transferred us to a suite near the pool that provided us more room. Very pretty, comfortable bed, updated bathroom, however, we only got this room after we complained.
- Spa/ Fitness area: Fitness area was below average. Very small and little equipment to use. No towels (This is terrible to not provide at a upscale hotel) There was never anyone at the desk to provide support. We each had a fascial, which was conducted in a back areas of the spa. Good treatment and nice staff.
- Pool: Pool area was nice and kept clean.
- Dinning:
Breakfast was average, waitstaff was not very attentive.
Bar area was very sparring and not a comfortable atmosphere. We had to hunt someone down to get a drink. Returned our aperol spritz as it was made incorrectly. Staff was completely absent in the bar.
Dinner: Dinning room was elegant and the head waiter was supportive in ordering. It was very unclear who was our waiter, and who could help us. Took time for the staff to pour the wine and water. Food was delicious. When finished with our mains, the waiter never came to ask for dessert/ coffee/ after dinner drink and when asking for our check they told us we could just leave. Very strange ending for a very delicious and elegant dinner.
Another short note to the restaurant: DO NOT put your bread out on the tables hours in advance. I witnessed this two days in a row where rolls were set on the table for hours before anyone even sat down inside and out restaurant. That does not make for an elegant experience.
- Location: The location was not perfect. As it was 20 minutes for Avignon, I expected it to be near vineyards, but it was in the middle of no where.

In conclusion:
Very pretty landscaping and setting, Delicious french cuisine, however, a few things to improve on.

having decided to spend the night mid way,Avignon,le Pontet seem to be the right spot.
we did find the hotel easily enough,5*
nice parking, reception perfect and a porter to take our luggage all very nice .the garden, spa swimming pool,to a high standard .The bedroom large and well appointed ,maybe a handle to help the 3rd age to get out of the bath,in view of the average age of the patrons.
Now,the best part, nice restaurant the tables perhaps a little packed when a room next was already set for breakfast?
the service was excellent,somelier helpful
been on holiday mood we had decided to up grade ,the room (30€)not to have a view of the parking.so why not the menu
(30€ each)wine 80€.well,the dishes were
cold in the right place and the plate warm .
the dishes described on the menu sounded, very good ,but to my mind
and taste buds felt flat .Nice presentation
luck warm dish. The cheese trolley A Dream. Breakfast, the scrambled egg looking more like a omelette having had an accident, the hot buffet suffered from
lack of heat, the choice of cold items
very good
one little details,may be two
mould on the ceiling of the bathroom
and in a 5*the porter start his duty
around 10.30.
at around 500€ per night for two
a little under expectation.
5 for the room and facility
3 for the meal
