This professional run pony trekking centre does what it says on the tin - pony trekking in the lovely Allendale valley and surrounding moors. Based on a working hill farm half way between the Allenhead pass and the the National Trust owned Allen Dale gorge lower down the valley, rides are either up and down the valley or, when the peat moors dry out enough, out onto the wild moor. The centre does riding lessons and has a decent indoor arena, though we enjoyed a 1.5 hour trek. The horses seemed safe, happy and well looked after, the tack is on good order. The manner of guiding is relaxed and very friendly, while still adhering to appropriate protocols and checks. The reason for the 4 not the 5 stars is just because the horses were rather unresponsive to the leg, the ride mixed ability and the scope of the ride somewhat limited due to the time of year (wet and cold). I would recommend this trekking centre to anyone wanting to ride out in this lovely area and would certainly return for a longer ride in better weather
