We were in the treehouse un on the hill. It's a hike to get there (75 steps) but it's worth it for the commanding views. The staff were wonderful and the accommodation was great value for money. The sandy little beach nearby is lovely for a wallow. There are reefs not far from shore with fish for a bit of snorkelling. Brave people can venture out to the drop-off about 100m from shore where you will get much more interesting coral formations and fish. The staff were lovely and attentive (Savi is the best). The free wifi works well. Only negatives would be the issues with water pressure (which I believe are a municipal thing, not the resort's fault) and the pool which I wasn't game to swim in. No great loss, I'd rather be in the sea, but if you're counting on the pool, you may be a little disappointed.

We stayed twice at this resort and both times weren’t good. It seems that this resort was a very good one - but ages ago. They do not care about the lovely bures. All of them are dirty and very used. The bathrooms are mostly damaged and the facilities are not working that good. One lady at the reception is very nice and smart - the other one does not no what to do - doesn’t matter in which situation. The only good thing is, that they are located close to the tiny airport and offer free airport transfers. The beach isn’t very good and you can just use it to refresh yourself - nothing to relax out there. The restaurant serves priced dishes which weren’t as good as in other restaurants. All in all I cannot recommend to stay there!

Bula bula,

Thanks for the feedback and apologies that expectation and reality were a mismatch. Our property was previously an expensive luxurious 5 star resort, and then it became an overgrown jungle, and then the new operators reopened is as a humble, budget-friendly lodge. For tourists with higher expectations for a resort experience, we can recommend to look elsewhere, and for travellers seeking a simple room on Taveuni with a burst of island style hospitaility, we recommend to choose us.. In any case, we've shared these comments with our team and are grateful for the opportunity to create improvement.

Vinaka and best wishes,

Maravu Tribe

We spent a week here, and had a great time. The bure’s are spacious and the verandas give you a good spot to have a beer and enjoy the views and the garden. Bure’s are a bit old but staff is friendly and menu items at the bar are cheap, but servings are generous and the fish dishes taste delicious!

Million dollar views from a clifftop retreat. Spacious villa with big deck wrapped around a mature Mango tree, felt like living in a tree house overlooking the ocean. very private. Staff were happy and helpful. Would love to return when the mango are ripe.

Room Tip: We had a cliff top villa, not sure of the other options.
